    Great article.

I think this would be a good article to get under the nose of JWs in your area.

You never know what may wake someone up.

Thanks for posting this. Let's all do our bit to spread the word and drum up support for Lawrence Hughes.

Watchtower Society has in the past used the strategy of accusing lawyers who have represented Lawrence Hughes of bringing "frivolous and vexatious" litigation against the religious organization.

    Pot, meet Kettle.

    exactly, Scully.

I would love to see a hollywood movie made out of this...even an HBO special.

It would be great to see the tables turned and the team of WT lawyers portrayed as the big bad heartless corporate giant...pushing their weight around to protect their foolish policies that lead to death and suffering. If it could wake up one more person it would be worth it, but I think it would wake up a lot more than that.

    cheers,

Are lawyers who work in-house for a religious organization in a conflict of interest when they purport to represent a patient (or her mother)who must make an important medical decision concerning life-prolonging medical treatment?

This is an excellent question/issue. If the Society sends a legal team to support a patient in refusing blood, is this because they're fighting for the freedoms of the patient or are they enforcing the Society's ban on blood. If the patient decided that accepting an unapproved fraction is within their Christian right would the WTS legal team still represent them?
