In that thread, it was mentioned that miscarried babies don't have the hope of being resurrected. Is this true?
And if so, why is abortion (which usually takes place when the embryo is youngest) not permitted then?

That's one of those cases where the WTS speaks out of both sides of their mouth.
Life starts at conception BUT
Babies who die before leaving the birth canal aren't alive enough to be resurrected.
Would the wt look at it as with a stillbirth jah is destroying the baby for some reason and with abortion man is destroying a child? resurrection is a seperate issue all together?
Watchtower paradox....dont ask these questions or you'll start to drink heavily!
Actually, I asked this question quite frequently in regards to abortion. If god placed the same value on a fetus, why wouldn't it be resurrected, too. They could never answer it, and I could never understand why abortion was viewed as murder. It's not just a question for JWs, but for Christians in general.
Rebel8: Old light! Now the WTS "can't say" what will happen to stillbirths, miscarriages, etc.
See this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/170976/1/WT-15th-April-apostates-new-light-on-miscarriages
You need to keep up with that speeding chariot!
The Watchtower teaches that stillborn or aborted babies do not get a resurrection. It then contradicts itself to say abortion is wrong.
It is interesting that the scripture Exodus 21:22-23 that is used to say abortion is wrong actually indicates the opposite. A person that in a fight knocks a woman and causes an abortion is charged a fine, the Mosaic Law punishment for theft. However, the punishment if the woman died was death. Therefore killing the woman was considered murder, but killing the foetus was not.
wow:
Will miscarried babies or stillborn get a resurrection?
1969 QFR 1 st Apr Stillborn = no Embryos = no Foetuses = no
1984 QFR 15 th Mar Stillborn = maybe Embryos = maybe Foetuses = no
2009 QFR 15 th Apr Stillborn = probably Embryos = probably Foetuses = probably
Rebel8, this is something I have wondered, too. Is a fetus a "living soul" or not, in the WT's eyes?
I know of a young would-be mother who miscarried... who nearly had a nervous breakdown from grief, as all the "helpful Brothers" were telling her that her lost baby would not be resurrected. Just as well... that was part of the reason she began to doubt in this so-called (T)ruth.
