April 1st, May 15th and sometimes September.

The number of HUGE doctrinal bombs, or manipulative deceits that have been printed regularly in those editions is INCREDIBLE.

If I had the CD still I want to target those magazines to see what they put across.

The pattern is so regular it is monotonous. I only realised this today as I was looking up some older threads, and realised how often these months come up.

Of course when they want to slip something past craftily, they prolly use a FEB or NOV Witchtower.

    Anybody able to confirm??

Do April 1, or May 15 have any special secret "pagan " or other associations??

    Hey mahsterbate

You are not alone. The APril 1st 2009 public wack has that cultic triangle (worn by a pharisee) which is the exact same pic from the july 15 07 wack. The triangle reappeared exactly 6 months later in the Jan 15 08 koolaid wack. So logically .......

Note the triangle is the same one as found in the live forever book where the thief is running from the police. The triangle can be seen dangling from his loot bag- a cultic visual cue displayed right front and center.

    Hey Hammy B.,

Do April 1, or May 15 have any special secret "pagan " or other associations??

I believe that May 15 is the pagan holiday called "April Fools' Day".

Memorial season and th man created "Service year" conclusion were the two identified times when the weak or inactive generally participated in meetings etc. Often the guilt trips were heaviest to correspond with this time frame.

Also recognizing the pagan New Year's commitments that get made, they hit the blood card and donation campaign messages during that time.

So it isn't so much pagan connections it is just good marketing

I don't know if you would call it a "WHOO HOO moment", but I too have noticed something about the months they decide to publish some of their new truths deceits. At least for me, it does seem to occur in about April/May or August/September. Well, for the most part...

Just off the top of my head, here are some examples:

-April 1st, 1979 - Jesus is NOT the mediator for all mankind.

-April 1st, 1972 - The WT declares that "it is easy to say that this group acts as a 'prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this could be done is to review the record. What does it show?

-April 1st, 1920 - The WT declares that they would "not refuse to treat one as a brother because he did not believe the Society is the Lord's channel."

-April/May 1984 WT's - The WT declares in 4 issues that the Generation of 1914 wouldn't pass away before the end of this "system of things". Yeah, right. Another false prophecy.

-August 1st or 15th, 1974 - The WT declares that it's okay to treat D/F members nicer and that it's OK to talk to them.

    -September 15th, 1981 - JW's shall NOT talk or even eat with D/F JW's.

-April 15th, 1988 - The WT declares how to treat D/F ones yet again.

OK, after putting together this list, I was wrong. For some reason I have a lot of April quotes in my head right now. The September article I mentioned above stands out for me because that's when they instituted their hardline approach towards D/F ones.

I don't really see a pattern. I'm sure anyone else here could declare that any other month shows other important WT declarations.

Perhaps they did have some patterns.

Since all the changes they haven't properly established new ones, but it used to be that the Jan WT would have the world statistics and there'd be a 'Preaching Is Very Important, Look At Our Success' study article. About Feb would be the one about the FDS, anointed, memorial (any or all of the above). Late Spring would have study article(s) summarizing the key talks at the previous summer convention. Fall would have something about new light or WT history.

April 1st as a Pagan Holiday....

Day of Hathor in ancient Egypt.

Hathor: In Egyptian mythology the sky goddess and the daughter of Ra. In legends, Hathor is associated with most of the other goddesses. Hathor was depicted as a cow with a sun disk between her horns or as a slender woman with a headress of horns and sun disk. Ancient Greeks identified Hathor with the goddess Aphrodite.

    Kali's Day in India.
Kali: A Hindu goddess associated with death and destruction. The name Kali means "black", but hasby folk etymology come to mean "force of time (kala)". Despite her negative connotations, she is today considered the goddess of time and change. Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, her earliest incarnation as a figure of annihilation still has some influence. She is also revered as Bhavatarini (literally "redeemer of the universe"). Comparatively recent devotional movements largely conceive Kali as a benevolent mother goddess.

May 15th as a Pagan Holiday....

Mercuralia is an Ancient Roman celebration known also as the "Festival of Mercury". Mercury was thought to be the god of merchants and commerce. On May 15th merchants would sprinkle their heads, their ships and merchandise, and their businesses with water taken from the well at Port Capena.

Ides of May that the Vestal virgins preformed rites to bless and entice the water for the coming Summer.

Feast of Ochossi, Orisha of Animals (African origin). Involves sacrificing to all the deities annually.
