I would also like to add that by the 90's, you've got this generational base to give a feeling of stability for the born-ins. Sure, there's nothing remarkable coming out of Brooklyn. But there's also nothing which rocks the boat. The young party and have a good time (up to a point) like anyone else, but they can still show up to meetings. Even if they have no real zeal, it's not a problem to remain a JW. Most of the battles have already been fought for them.
