My Bad Apostate Ass Scared Them Off!

This morning - a wonderful sunny spring day - Grandmunchkin #3, Wifey and I went 'garage sailing'. We encountered a nice little sale, that happened to be at the house of someone we have come to know from an uptown art business in our little town.

As we snooped, and shared a little polite conversation with the owner, lo and behold - up walk two of my former good friends - Marsha and Sally, both dyed-in-the-wool Witnesses. Marsha is partly my fault - I started the Bible study with her husband that ended them up as the religious fanatics they have become. Sally was Jw when I was practicing for my baptism questions in 1972. So, altogether, I have known both 'ladies' around 70 years total.

They spotted us and turned like they were avoiding a jackboot Nazi agent, trying to look nonchalant as they made a bee-line out of there without ever looking at anything.

The householder looked at me as if that was odd. I took the opportunity to anti-witness to Peggy. She said 'Oh well - I don't want customers like that. God is not like that!'

So much for letting your light shine. They showed just what hypocrites they are. There's one more person who will never listen to Jw's.

    A good day!

It gets you thinking, doesn't it. Some people (JWs in this case) are so narrow minded in a spiritual sense that they cannot imagine a God with more love than they could have themselves, or more reasonableness, or more forgiveness. In essence, their god is not anywhere near the best God a person could imagine. And if you can't imagine a great, freaking awesome God, what's the point in believing in God at all?

I tried to reply to this earlier, and it wouldn't open.

    Great job, Jeff.

I do the same down here.

I never have understood why JWs have to go out of their way to avoid someone...

Okay, so they see a DFd person (I'm assuming you're DFd) so instead of just continuing to go about their business and act as if you're not there, they act as if Satan himself were in their presence and they hightail it out of there...

Even when I was still in and followed the DFing rules, if I saw a DFd person, I might not have talked to him, but I sure didn't turn tail and run. I figured as long as I'm minding my own business, there can't be anything wrong with us being in the same building, store, room even.

These two ladies must have been really obvious if the homeowner took notice. It's one thing to leave nonchalantly, it's another when you turn in your tracks and run.

"By their fruits you will know them."

And what a fine Witness for Grandmunchkin #3, to see his/her grandparents treated like that in such a casual and otherwise friendly setting.

Great Job Jeff! I take the opportunity to anti-witness in situations like that too. Its a regular thing for me as I'm shunned every day. Alot of the time there's an opportunity to "explain" why I'm treated like a pariah by JW's. Its always a pleasure to hear people say, "thats terrible! I thought they were christians?"

you said "householder". Do you mean home owner? When I hear a common wt word it's like fingernails on a chalk board.
