Hey Jude was the most popular Beatles single in the United States.

    Real story...

A sister I worked with at Bethel was also a huge Beatles fan. Once, her husband -- not a Beatles fan -- asked her if she liked "all of the screaming at the end of the song". Her reply? "Uh, yeah. I'm a Beatles fan. Of course I like the screaming at the end."

I heard this yesterday on my new favorite station, Sirius Classic Vinyl. I hadn't heard it in forever (and it was never a fave). It sounded so darn good.

We went to an event about 75 miles from home last year. My mom's 80th Bday party actually. Anyway, a bunch of the family had come from all over for it. On the way home that night, our car load included my two children, my niece, and two of her children. The kids are all in the 19-23 range. They begged us for some Beatles. We just happen to have Abbey Road in the car. We turned it up, and those kids (*cough* and the rest of us) sang at the top of thier lungs every last note on that whole album. It ended just as we turned into the drive way. One of my favorite memories.
