There's been a lot of talk on here about the crazy symposium at this spring's circuit assemblies, "Stand Firm Against the Devil's Crafty Acts." So, my wife and I decided to attend the assembly, or at least just this symposium anyway. I recorded the whole symposium.

You can listen to the whole symposium (4 talks, >1 hour) here: http://www.watchtowerletters.com/media/devils_crafty_acts.mp3

Or you can just watch the highlights (9 minutes, 59 seconds) here: http://www.watchtowerletters.com/vidoes.html

On a related note, there has been some discussion here about recording parts of the upcoming District Convention. I doubt I'll be able to attend the Convention, but if anyone is willing to record (even just the audio) any of the program, I can take the footage & create mp3s and videos like you see here. Anything having to do with science, the "last days", or disfellowshipping/shunning would be most welcome.

That is excellent Shepherd Book, I really needed the laugh! What a lot of crock they're still spouting, I can't believe I used to sit through this tripe and swallow every word without thinking. God what a dumbo I was.

So? Who's ready to spend their vacation hitting unworked territory? Yeah right.

You spelled Jehovah's Witnesses wrong at the start of your little video. Try a bit of proofreading Dr Evil, geez.

The stats for the pay level of college graduates leaves no doubt that it is worth it for most people. The average rate of pay for grads is 1.73 times the average for non grads (US Census Bureau 2004) for a bachelor's degree. And that says nothing for the experience and satisfaction of learning, as opposed to being force fed bad doctrine and double bind theology.

But the critical thing for the WT is not that they really care about pay level, or finding a job in the field of study; they don't want witnesses to learn critical thinking skills, or to find out that rampant sex and drugs are not mandatory, or to realize that possibly non-witnesses can be honest, caring and ethical people.

One comparative religion course, or logic course and the game is up for the level of belief that the WT leadership likes: blind obedience to what is said from the platform.

Thanks. I enjoyed reading your wife's blog about attending the assembly!

Pwp: Thanks, I thought she wrote a good blog, too.

As was so politely pointed out above (though I don't get the Dr. Evil reference), I spelled "Jehovah" wrong at the beginning of the video. I corrected it, but that means a new URL.

Maybe your avatar looks a bit like Dr Evil.

Thanks. I watched the short version. Couldn't take an hour of this drivel.

I was wanting to get a feel of the type of crap the wife will be getting over the coming weekend.

    Gosh I hate this crap.

SP....thankyou. I could only tolerate the shorter version.

It just reconfirms the misery expected by the faithful followers.

Need a break, got a vacation coming? Don't you dare, get out in service, that will make you feel better.

Got a cell phone? Becareful of the urge to send porn to your family and friends.

Watching TV? You are now a lowly "peeping tom" if you watch reality shows, like the angels watching beautiful women before the flood.

Are you standing on Sand? You are now standing on Satan's secret weapon, I guess JW's better stay off the beaches of this world. Not to worry, you don't need a vacation anyway....get your ass out preaching on your time off.

What a depressing way to live. No wonder my parents were always so morose.

These speakers sound as if they are addressing first grade students....oops, maybe they are.
