I assume they've put their picture in the book so that they will be recognized and appropriately honored when making any appearance at a bOrganization function.

And they're not printing this picture because they are proud and boastful... no siree. Just ask any of them and they'll tell you that they're the humblest, meekest, and modestest group that you'll ever meet. When it comes to humility, they're #1 !!! And don't you forget it.

I think Lett isn't smiling his usual corny grin in this picture since he wanted to sit down while all the others stood around him. Consequently, the dude is pist... but humbly and righteously pist.

We wondered who the next leader is. I think the answer is here- Splane. Losch got a seat due to senority- but he's too wacked out and independant to run things. Jaracz and Barr are the old guard. The guys standing are the new generation.

The Proclaimers book came out in the early 90s, if my memory is correct. I was baptized in the mid 90s, shortly after it came out. In the book, there was a full-page photo of the then 12-member GB. If I'm not mistaken, Barr and Jaracz are the only remaining members of that group.

I remember being in awe of that picture when I was a naive and loyal teenaged JW. I wanted to know everything about these men, who they were, where they were from, what their personalities were like. I asked any Bethelite I came across to share any GB stories they knew. I honestly thought they were the modern-day apostles. Now I see this new picture with a bit of sadness. To me, this is just a group of old men governing over a stagnant religious organization whose better days are behind it. I feel the same as I would feel if I saw a picture of the board of directors of a once-powerful Fortune 500 company that is now on the decline.
