For me, I'd probably say Yes to the first question, but No to all the others. Would I be DFd?

I Think who statuto of the society says: when he is inactive more 6 monthse not more as JW. therefore because to ask if he is known like JW? if inactive not more JW. olders when onebody become inactive have not consider JW..this did me always thinking as strange way to make

Awildflower, the reason you probably have not been contacted by the elders is that you have not committed a disfellowshipping offense. Or at least not to their knowledge. When someone becomes inactive, once in the while the elders will call, especially when the C.O. comes around, but after that usually nothing happens...unless the elders hear about a possible grave sin the person is committing.

But if not, then some fade out completely, but still have some association with JW's. Even if you DID commit a "grave sin" and your JW friends knew about it, they might reason that the elders don't need to know because you are inactive.

    The whole system is flawed.

In my estimation, a great deal depends on the composite personality of the local BOE. No one has pursued me yet, and a few weeks back a local elder's mouth made a perfect "O" of shock when he saw my wickedly bewhiskered face at a local hardware store. So they know I am out in the wild, and living my own way. I am also aware of rumors that I was seen entering one of Babylon the Great's structures, so they already have plenty of grounds.

They know how to reach me, I got the invite to the Sham-orial on my cell phone's voice mail this year. I think a lot of BOEs are short staffed and overworked these days, and it is affecting their ability to form their witch hunts.

Let that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag remove His Unholy Spirit from the congregations. I would rather see them fall apart into a disjointed group of people aimlessly trying to figure out what to do next, than to see them organize the whole world into the Second Dark Ages.

BONAFIDE - All it takes is just one witness family member ( or former family member like ex-wives ) with a vendetta against you who wants to stir up trouble in your life and an inactive witness can be harassed mercilessly by the elders- no matter how long they've been inactive. This is what happened to me 3 years ago. Mrs. Flipper and I were 1 month from being married and my ex-wife ( fanatic witness) drives up 80 miles out of her way with her witness husband and my youngest daughter in tow on a Saturday morning to see if my fiance and I could be caught in bed at 9:30 A.M. in the morning. Pretty pathetic, huh? So then she called my witness parents and older siblings lying to them telling them I was living with my fiance. So not many witness family came to our wedding as a result. Did it piss me off ? You bet.

But it didn't stop there. My ex-wife also called the elders in my former congrgation from 4 years before and told them. So we got random harassing phone calls from the elders wanting to form a JC with me based on alleged " circumstancial fornication " . I kept telling them I was innocent, had done nothing wrong and I refused to meet with them. This lasted over 6 months - and when I refused to meet at their JC - they sent 2 elders 90 miles out of their way to tell me they decided to DF me ! ( Even though I had not attended in 4 years ! ) So - I fought the decision in an appeal meeting so my 80 year old parents would not shun me. I also threatened them with a lawsuit for slander and defamation of character if they announced or went through with the DFing in spite of no evidence against me. They wrote the societies legal department - and a month after the appeal meeting the appeal committee chairman called me and said they overturned the DF decision- the society said you are free to go . They encouraged me to go back to meetings in the area I lived - I said, " No thanks. This has taken 10 months out of my life fighting this and I went on blood pressure medicine in the process due to the stress - I have a lot of resentment in how this was handled . " So - Needless to say nobody has dared bother with me since . If they know what's good for them- they won't

it's is so up to the whims of the local body. I've seen sisters who were inactive walk in as single mothers and not a peep. Other times I experianced elders directing the flock to spy on others.

It's all just crap. Just another looney religion with idiots at the helm
