Hi everyone, as some of you know I'm writing an article about my life in the organisation and the journey out of it. It's amazing how the words just flow and come so easy.

I've quoted from memory a couple of watchtowers or publications but as I got rid of my written research and all my literature a couple of years back, can't go back and check the actual dates/pages and such. If anyone recognises the following and where they come from I'd appreciate it:

The publication and or watchtowers that prophesied the ressurection of the princes in 1925

There is a watchtower where the society calls the organisation "mother" and jehovah "father" - I have an inkling that it was a 1952 watchtower?

Any watchtower / publication with reference to 1975 being the end.

I know there is a brochure that give a basic outline of what the JWs believe - or there used to be.

Thanks in advance for any help!

A selection of other quotes you might like:

w82 7/1 p. 20 par. 4 What Birth of the Nation Has Meant for Mankind

This was no less the case with the members of the spiritual "nation" that was "born" in 1919 CE. After their astonishing liberation from the restrictions imposed during World War I and the threat of their being wiped out, they rejoiced with unbounded joy. Their mourning passed away. More keenly than ever before they came to appreciate that Jehovah is their God and that he has a visible organization, just as he has an invisible organization in the heavens that is like a wife to him. This invisible organization is, for the remnant, a "mother," the "Jerusalem above." (Isaiah 54:1-6; Galatians 4:26) So, coming together again from their disorganized state during World War I, they rejoiced to be nursed, borne along and fondled by this spiritual "mother," the celestial "wife" of God their Father. As "servants" dedicated to him through their older Brother, Jesus Christ, they were comforted to know that the "hand" of Jehovah was operating in their favor.

w71 9/1 p. 526 par. 8 Fortify Yourself So as to Maintain Integrity

Further, they fail to heed the counsel of verse 8 of the same chapter which says, "Listen, my son, to the discipline of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother." They do not listen to their parents and they do not listen to their heavenly Father, Jehovah, and their "mother," Jehovah's wifelike organization.

    w61 5/1 p. 282 The Decalogue's Principles Ever Valid

Carried over into the Christian system of things likewise is the principle embodied in the fifth commandment, "honor your father and your mother." Of course, Christian children have natural fathers and mothers to obey. (Eph. 6:1-4) Besides that, all Christians have Jehovah God as "our Father," and his heavenly organization, Jerusalem, as "our mother." These, above all else, they are to honor and obey. Logically, included in such honor and obedience are the earthly representatives of the heavenly Father and mother. For adults this would include all those in positions of authority in the Christian congregation or New World society of Jehovah's witnesses, and for children, additionally, their "parents in union with the Lord."

    More from the 1957 articles.

    w57 5/1 p. 274 par. 3 Show Respect for Jehovah's Organization

The world is full of Bibles, which Book contains the commandments of God. Why, then, do the people not know which way to go? Because they do not also have the teaching or law of the mother, which is light. Jehovah God has provided his holy written Word for all mankind and it contains all the information that is needed for men in taking a course leading to life. But God has not arranged for that Word to speak independently or to shine forth life-giving truths by itself. His Word says: "Light is sown for the righteous." (Ps. 97:11) It is through his organization that God provides this light that the proverb says is the teaching or law of the mother. If we are to walk in the light of truth we must recognize not only Jehovah God as our Father but his organization as our mother.

Personal experiences (not the same as a direct statement from the WTS, but still ... ) :

w95 11/1 pp. 24-25 "Thrown Down, but Not Destroyed"

I have also learned not to give up in the fight against any tendency to become discouraged. I have learned to view Jehovah as my Father and his organization as my Mother.

    w81 8/15 p. 10 Jehovah Is My Stronghold

My brother became infuriated and began to hit me with anything he could find. His wife joined in. He chased me from the house and pursued me for some distance. I went to some close relatives in the city, but they refused to take me in for the night. One relative said: "Did you not claim Jehovah as your Father and his organization as your mother? Well, go to Jehovah and let him take you in!"
