I never could make heads or tails of the so-called Bible chronology, because I thought I wasn't spiritual enough to grasp it. And I believed that the end was near even after I was df'd. September 11th took place 13 years after I was df'd. I told my husband that maybe the jws were right, and Armageddon was here. He laughed and said, "Well, if we're going down, at least we're going down together." I stopped fearing the end after that, because he was right.

Yes, I believed it was. With the this generation shall not pass away thing, and I remember when the "Revelation" book was released, and studying that for the first time, surely the end was near, Communism was falling apart everywhere, and people were crying peace and security!
Then there was the Gulf war surely that would lead up to armageddon.
Yeah, I was one of those ones that thought every odd current event could lead up to the end.

I was not so hung up on the 1975 date. However, I did believe the whole story about the time of the end, king of north and south, and this generation. I held the view that something was going to take place before I grew old (I was 18 in 1975).
The first glimmer of doubt occurred when the USSR was disolved and we no longer had a king of the north.

Yes I did - every milestone that was coming up in my life (starting high school, getting driver's license, moving out on my own, getting married) was overshadowed with the thought of Armageddon coming at any time and me not being able to experience those things. I remember though when I learned of the generation change in 1995, instead of waking up (DUR!), I still believed it was the truth and I was RELIEVED because I thought it bought me more time. I didnt want armageddon coming. I didn't want to live in a JW paradise even though I believed it at the time.

Yep, I really did. I was conscious about the "no one knows the day or hour" thing, but I had a pet tiger and swiss chalet in my sights!
Freddy gave a talk out here at Dodger Stadium around 1992 or so, and he said from his mouth to my ears, that this system would not last until the next century, and I believed him. With the JW mindset, all I could see was bad around me, I never looked for the "good" in this system.
When the change in the generation came in 1995, I had that sinking feeling it was all a crock. Then 1999 ended without any disaster, and I took the JW blinders and saw that this was a pretty great century. Life was much worse in history, and much worse the first 30-40 years of the 1900's.

Because of ongoing health issues, I hoped for the end but didn't completely believe it would come in my lifetime.

Yes...based it on the 1914 generation teaching...tried to calculate the general timeframe then 1995 came and put an end to that
