Being in a trance. Then one day you come out of the trance only realize that everyone one you know is still under the spell.

You are cared for [maybe], fed a diet that is considered by somebody else to be what you need, you are protected from storms and coming to physical harm. Your shepherd makes sure you are not sick - life seems ok...

But your shepherd is really only caring for his own interests. You are his business asset nothing more. The fact is that you get regularly fleeced - and end up on the slab...

It's been a long time since I've been a JW but someone above mentioned having 1000 rocks piled on your chest. That's pretty much the way I felt when I refused to continue going to meetings or assemblies. I had to start taking the rocks off one by one so that I could breath. I think I'm just taking the last of the rocks off now.

It's like being on Seroquel. You're always in a dream like state, you don't have any real feelings, you eat anything you see, and if you try to think, you get a headache. Only when you stop taking Seroquel, you realize that it's destroying your life.
