I don't trust anything that has to do with the government. There's an old saying: if you can't respect the man, at least respect the uniform. I feel the exact opposite. I can't respect the uniform, but I will respect the man (person) until he gives me reason not too. But there's a reason they tell you that anything you say can AND WILL be used against you. It will. The police do what is in their best interests, not yours. Think of them as the GB in blue.

Like you said there are good and bad ones. I was implicated once and had to pay the dues and I was not the one responsible. Just a victim of circumstance. But, I have had several let me off. I know a lot of officers and they have let me go for speeding, etc. Sometimes they would just point their finger at me. Once, I was clocked at doing a 108 mph and was just told to slow down. Whew!!

I often ask myself why would anybody wanna be a cop? They are programmed by the system, they piss people off writing tickets, they are on the look out for law breakers,and the state is getting more and more laws, I guess we all gotta make a living,, I would much rather make my money some other way, and not with a job that forces you to be nosey and get all up in other peoples business.
When you think of it cops are like the internal revenue, they help the state, or city get money from people with all the different ways they can extort money from you with speeding tickets, and a whole host of other fines.
It true they do provide some valuable services, but mostly they are a pain in the ass, so why would I trust them anymore or less than a stranger,, it's just a job.

My son is one of the good ones and has been for many years.
You have to watch the new & young ones that have rookie-itis. The power goes to their head.
I have only been stopped twice. State patrol got me in west Texas for speeding (it got dark & I forgot to lower the cruise control). He just said to slow down because there's lots of animals crossing the highway. The second was SP in Louisiana on I-10. It was ofter midnight. He said I touched the white line on the side of the highway when I came over a bridge (any excuse will do). I was driving a van w/ a Texas tag headed east & I-10 is a major line for drugs so I think he was just hoping he had found a nice cache of drugs.

Yeah Rockie's the barny fife types. And I do supose there are some really good ones that give alot of breaks to people,, I know they got thier quota's and all to make it profitable busines for the government, I'm sure thier are those types and want to be more helpful than pain in the ass types.
