Very interesting, StuckInaRut2! I remember the melody of that song, so I looked it up in the 2009 Song Book..Song 125, "Loyally Submitting to Theocratic Order" is the one you are thinking of "Loyal submission in recognition, This to our God we owe, He gives protection, tender affection, Loyalty to Him we owe." That's the chorus. In one part of the song it says, " Theocratic order, they must all obey".... and I started to think, 'Hey, maybe they changed it in this one...'
So, I go to the library, take out our 1984 song book, and look in the back. In this songbook, they have songs listed by subject. Guess what one of the subject is? "Theocratic Warfare"
In the 1984 song book, this "Loyally Submitting" song is number 8. (Interestingly, it's not under the subject "Theocratic Warfare", it's under "Christian Qualities )
Verse 2 says, " Jesus Christ our leader, is in full control, he equips his soldiers, that he does enroll. 'Tis a spiritual warfare, so we have to act, As a group united, Close knit and compact"
Theocratic warfare was first described to me as 'Lying for the truth'
My elder JW brother couldn't see the contradiction in such a statement
sad
As well as numerous WT articles on it, I recall a couple found in Kingdom Ministries during the 90s. Most recently, it's slyly referenced in a letter addressed to Elders advising them that they should talk to authorities without getting permission from Brooklyn or Branch Office first. One can even look through child custody information for how it gets applied in custody cases.
Memphis did you mean to say
" should talk to authorities ". without permission ? I thought that kind of freedom to was frowned upon .

Great post cha ching!
Thanks for the research....
it shows how invasive and how much of an "ear-worm" those songs are!
*** it-2 p. 245 Lie ***
"While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it... Evidently the course of Abraham, Isaac, Rahab, and Elisha in misdirecting or in withholding full facts from nonworshipers of Jehovah must be viewed in the same light."
There should be a difference between the way God does things and the way Satan does things, but being deceitful and misleading is a trait of Satan:
*** w00 1/1 p. 6 par. 3 Serving With the Watchman ***
"Over the millenniums the great Adversary, Satan the Devil, has wickedly sought to discredit the testimony of God’s witnesses. As “the father of the lie,” this “great dragon . . . , the original serpent,” has been “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” He has been relentless in his warfare..."
So next time a JW tries to justify WT lies as "theocratic warfare", reply "Oh yes, just the same as Satan does."
