......knows about this site?? And do you think they know about the UN fiasco? How can we even mention the UN without them knowing we've been searching the web for info against the WTS? Just wondering.

I think very few elders would be able to handle this site or talk about anything meaningful, except maybe a handful who are really good people underneath and are in favor of free expression. I know of one, but am not really sure of him either. FEAR is what keeps most in line as their security blanket so they cannot really think like real people.

One elder at my old hall cruised the old H20 site before. Said that it raised too many questions that he didn't want to think about. He told me he was very happy to remain a witness (all he ever knew) and therefore didn't want to ruin his spirituality by surfing such sites.

Actually I don't blame him. If you're happy, best to stay away.

Wow. I'm surprised that he would even admit that. I don't understand why you would want to continue living a lie, but man, that's pretty interesting that he'd admit that. What I don't understand is that if you truly believe it's the Truth, what is so scary about stuff like H20 or this site. Truth is truth, right? Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

No. The average Witness and the typical elder know almost nothing about UN/pedophile issues/significance of blood changes/significance of organizational changes/ etc.

My father-in-law is an elder, and I haven't been in a Kingdom Hall in over two years. I know more about what is happening in the WTS than he does. I told him that info on the new elders school would be posted on line and that I would know what the school was about before he drove home from the assembly hall. We talked, and I was right!!

Few Witnesses spend anytime on this site, or others, for that matter. Why? Fear.

    Hello BillyGoat and Seeker4,

these few lines to let you know

that I do appreciate your comments about the elders,

in gneral and also the choice of words used:

°°°°. I'm surprised that he would even admit that. I don't understand why you would want to continue living a lie, but man, that's pretty interesting that he'd admit that. What I don't understand is that if you truly believe it's the Truth, what is so scary about stuff like H20 or this site. Truth is truth, right? Makes no sense to me whatsoever."

and : "...I haven't been in a Kingdom Hall in over two years. I know more about what is happening in the WTS than he does. I told him that info on the new elders school would be posted on line and that I would know what the school was about before he drove home from the assembly hall. We talked, and I was right!!"

Fear is really a great deterrent in the fight for

    free expression!

I have just written a letter to the W T Society as an innocent enquiry about a newspaper article on October 8th "U K Guardian". They can't touch you for that

And this is absolutely true. The witnesses that I am currently studying with were completely oblivious to this, especially the WTS's involvement with the UN. I haven't even mentioned the pedophilia to them. I don't really know that it would matter. When I spoke with them about the UN thing they pretty much brushed it off, as if it were either not true, a "one man" thing, or just some kind of misunderstanding. *chants*..."Jehovah will work it out"...

Elders and ordinary JWs who avoid the net know very little about what's going on. I know far more about organization changes, issues and even doctrinal changes than my 40+ years of service JW parents.

I don't think it is quite as bad as it used to be, but, when Knorr died and Franz took over we (in a UK congregation) didn't know for about 2 months!

The elder who wouldn't read too much for fear of hurting his faith sounds just like my oldest brother. He avoids the questions so as not to think about the issues.

Generally I doubt many elders know of this site! Ignorance is blessed in WT World!
