I went to a JW get-together last night

So here in the JW complex, well, 90% are JW's, a couple of my friends had a BBQ yesterday. I was invited. They had heard about some of my comments and questions regarding the Organization, but I guess they forgot about that.

The friends there were from three different congregations. The young teenagers sat on the porch and talked amongst themselves. There was a prayer, talking about the unity in the Organization and the privilege of having the Truth. The food was good.

Then the host asked a brother visiting from Russia how he came into the truth. He said he studied with the Witnesses to prove them wrong, and then he became a Witness. Everyone loved the experience.

The host has friends in Bethel, in fact he served in Bethel for a year. He told us how the magazine printing is moving to Canada, and how the Society tried to buy some property near Walkill but the deal didn't go through. He said how Jehovah moves some things to happen when he wants to, so we have to be patient.

That's it. The hosts never showed the tiniest crack in their faith. They are in their late 30's with no children, raised in the truth.

Again, no one talked as if there was any separation between the WT Society and the Bible. It's all one big Truth. Completely interchangeable.

Sometimes I think there are cracks showing in the Organization, and then sometimes I think it will last for a long time.

Discouraging. I am glad I went though, I don't want to be outed yet. I have some big plans.

    The food was good.

Did you really think, even if anyone did have a "crack in their faith", they would discuss it openly at a JW party in front of dozens of others who would likely be only too happy to report such "suspicious behavior" to the local elders?

That certainly was what I was thinking......

I can't stand going to those affairs,,.....they are entirely too bland and tasteless. Qne of the first things they always want to do is sit around and talk about what brought them into the troof. There's always some bloke starting out trying to prove them wrong and couldn't.......the same story told time and again that JWs just love to eat up.

With the wealth of information out there in cyberspace, it's quite easy to prove them wrong or poke logical holes through their interpretation point by point if you're not too lazy to look up the information. Sadly, to many people get so caught up in the love-bombong that once they study a bit and are hit with the inevitable "Satan going to try to get you to stop studying with us" chapter, they shut down on any information not stamped with a WT logo.

That is the truth alright..They posture about serving God, not an organization, but in reality - that is a lie. They believe that The Bible says whatever The WT say that it says.

We were sure the generation of Matt 24 ran from 1914 because the scripture said so (or that is what we thought it said) then the WT printed something different about it and all of a sudden The Bible now said something different ......

The Bible to a J W is only what the WT say that it is...

BTW..despite what I write, I can accept their company too ,and even eat their food on occasion. It hasn't choked me yet....
