If our world was a paradise with no sickness, pain, or death, would anyone have ever considered the concept of a Supreme Being? Who would care how we got here? Would not eternity be taken for granted?
Could it be that in order for any God to get attention ... he/she/it must create sin, fear, and sorrow ... making human choice to do good or bad only an illusion?

Gods are part of human culture (along with representation, language, writing, symbols, art); human culture in turn depends on a particular biological, zoological condition (including senses, urges, fear and other emotions, the feeling of pain and pleasure, the experience of sex, birth and death) to which it is a particular response. So without pain (among many other things) "God(s)" who certainly not exist as we picture them; but neither would we (as we picture ourselves).
I'll go you one further. Without a universe could God exist? How could he have a concept of himself without the existence of anything else? "God is good." Compared to what? "God is love." In contrast to what? What could he possibly think about if nothing else existed and how could he even think of himself if there was nothing to distinguish his "self" from?

The Trinity idea tends to address this. Three Persons had a relationship of perfect love with each other in Eternity. These three are God. God was never alone.
