Still go to SOME meetings as my wife suffers depression and cannot handle leaving...needs her friends. It's most painful.

I could not stomach going to meetings and hearing all the idolatrous adulation of the GB/FDS. So I walked out never to go again.

I do agree with Reniaa, for any action of ours to have value, it must be done in love, but it is not loving to leave people trapped in a cult if they could have a better life outside.

For that reason I do not seek to open the eyes of my 89 year old Mum, or even my sisters who are in their sixties, I think they would be lost and devastated to find they had wasted their lives. younger members of my family ,who I judge able to take the effects of leaving, and who will have a better life away from the cult, I try to awaken.

I have to do this as an inactive, non-attender, but at least I am welcomed by them and able to talk.

If you can stomach being in, and "undercover" , then I say good on yer ! but choose your marks with wisdom, kindness and love.

May God bless your efforts !

So, what do you do when you go to see your 89 year old mother, and a 25 year old mother walks out of the door with a Bible Teach book in her hand?

    Reniaa's drivel:

This is the main reason why most of the posters on this site have not touched me by their words, the fruitage of being a witness-hater is not a christian love or a new faith, it is just perverse pleasure in destroying what you once were and seeing people and things to play with uncaring of their feelings.

    My reply:

We are witness lovers here. We love the people and want to help them to be free of the awful mind control cult that has them captive. Moving ones faith off of the lies and deception is not unloving in any way. It is empowering the individual to think for themself and then form, thru their own free thinking, their own genuine beleifs.

    Reniaa says:

You say you would make them free of the the Jws but offer them no alternate faith in God. I would admire you more if you joined another religion. You read how lost people are on here not knowing what God to believe in, letting themselves be defined now by hatred of former things (being an ex-Jw is now their new religion) than hope and would wish that on others?

My reply: In freeing the person from the mind control of the WT we are offering them a wide array of alternatives as far as faith in God. I personally direct toward Jesus...but it is not up to us to coerce them out of the WT cult into another system. Freeing their mind opens up the alternatives. Reniia would admire us more if we joined another religion?? LOL How noble of you Reniaa. We are out to please you.

    Reniaa says:

No thx you can keep it is this is what you new goals are.

    Where is you love?

My reply: In freeing captives minds from a cult to empower them to think for themself...that is greater love than knocking on doors to share a false gospel.

1 Corinthians 13 (New International Version)

1 If I speak in the tongues [a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, [b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

My reply: Great verse Reniaa....shows how the WT- despite all of its lofty claims- even if they were true- the WT is nothing due to its lack of love. We lovingly try to free others minds from this unloving cult.

    Reniia says:

Just when witnesses go on the door they talk about Jehovah and about the message his son Jesus sent this is the directive for us to do biblically.

My reply: No they don't. They talk about negative world events and needing to come to the cult for salvation.

    Reniaa says:

Belief in God gives us our hope.

When you want to change something as fundamental as someones belief in God you should replace it with an even stronger belief in God.

My reply: In freeing one from the JW cult we are empowering the individual to do just that- of their own free mind..if they choose. It is not up to us to replace it- only to free their mind to do so.

    Reniaa says:

IS the justification of destroying something enough when you leave the people floundering without a God to believe in?

With witnesses Jehovah and Jehovah witnesses are intrinsically linked I do not see many on here that remain followers of Jehovah after losing their faith.

    Reniaa

My reply: Some exJW leave the org and faith in God all together. SOme become Christians. Could go either way BUT at least it is done with a free mind.

it is just perverse pleasure in destroying what you once were

Once you see the Watchtower cult for what it truly is - shit - you will have no trouble flushing it, just like your morning bowel movement. There's nothing perverse about it. It's the most natural thing that can be done with something disgusting.

Personally, I view field circus as spreading death threats. They are told that, unless they take the rags and do what they are therein told (and eventually the Washtowel Teach book and the Keep Yourselves In God's Tyranny book), they are soon going to be destroyed. To me, that is a death threat.

Leaving, I have started to read both of Steve Hassan's books, but I have to wait until I get to the library.

    BonaFide:

(Someone posted a PDF of Hassan's first book on this site. It's a scan, and the quality is not great, but it's readable. You can get it used on Amazon for less than seven bucks.)

If possible, skip straight to Chapter 5 and go ahead and read it.

As you have served in many different capacities and you've been a True Believer (as I was), you'll really GET what Hassan is saying in Chapter 5. Lights will go off in your head.

This initial post shows what a crock your whole plan is, if true.

Regardless of what subtle messages you think you have slipped in, what the JW's hear is that former Bethelites are glad to be out in the field, "The Faithful and Discreet Slave knows what we need" and "The Governing Body is really being used by Jehovah in this time of the end" and "We must follow the celestial chariot no matter where it leads us." They hear how the host of your gathering and this Russian guy "embraced the truth." They hear how Bonafide, despite a rough road and a fall from grace, is still a faithful servant in "the truth."

If this is really what you are about, then the rest of your "questions" are forgotten shortly and everyone remembers that it is "the truth" and you are still promoting it along with displaced Bethelites. It would be far more effective to stop supporting it in any way. People could see that Bonafide was so far into it, but has left, faded, stopped commenting, stopped field service, stopped being so sure it was "the truth."

    BonaFide,

You have my support. A relative of mine who has left the JWs said it's not hypocrisy to attend meetings for the purposes of maintaining relationships, it's called SURVIVAL.

And that is what you are doing.

    I will pm you.

Embrace the hypocrisy may be catchy phrase but in the long term I think it is position that is very damaging to the soul. I can understand how someone might want to stick around to help others get out but I'm not sure it can be done for very long without completely compromising yourself. Wanting to help others get out of the Watchtower while at the same time making comments at the meetings that encourage people to stay in is a very strange thing to be doing. To someone not familar with groups that use mind control it would seem totally insane for someone says they want to help others leave an organization they believe is harmful while at the same time they are going knocking on doors trying to get people to join. If your going to hang around the KH then just become one of those dead beat witnesses never comments, misses a lot of meeting never goes in service. I wish you luck.
