Wow, several of you had your family members get mad at you just like mine did.

Cleaning up bodies based on this scripture:

(Ezekiel 39:14-16) 14 "‘And there will be men for continual [employment] whom they will divide off, passing along through the land, burying, with those passing through, those left remaining on the surface of the earth, in order to cleanse it. To the end of seven months they will keep making search. 15 And those passing through must pass along through the land, and should one actually see the bone of a man he must also build beside it a marker, until those who do the burying will have buried it in the Valley of Gog’s Crowd. 16 And the name of [the] city will also be Ha·mo´nah. And they will have to cleanse the land.’

*** kj chap. 20 pp. 374-375 par. 15 Land of Magog No More to Threaten Mankind ***The "new earth" of human society under Jehovah’s Messianic kingdom of the heavens in the hands of "David my servant" must be perfectly clean of all traces of Gog’s crowd. To make a vivid picture of this, the "utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah" goes on to say respecting the survivors of Gog’s attack: "And there will be men for continual employment whom they will divide off, passing along through the land, burying, with those passing through, those left remaining on the surface of the earth, in order to cleanse it. To the end of seven months they will keep making search. And those passing through must pass along through the land, and should one actually see the bone of a man he must also build beside it a marker, until those who do the burying will have buried it in the Valley of Gog’s Crowd. And the name of the city will also be Hamonah. And they will have to cleanse the land."—Ezekiel 39:14-16.

*** w61 8/1 p. 469 par. 17 Enlarging Your Privileges of Service ***After God’s execution of judgment upon the wicked in his war of Armageddon, the earthly subjects of the King will have before them a world-wide cleanup program that will eclipse anything this globe has ever seen. Countless numbers of human dead will have to be buried. (Ezek. 39:11-16)

*** w56 8/1 p. 465 par. 17 Jehovah’s Message Against Gog of Magog ***With such a glorious feast of victory concluded, only the bones, bones from one end of the earth to the other, will be left for burial. What a task that will be for the survivors, to cleanse the earth of every remaining evidence of Gog’s forces! Even with the work well organized it will take seven months, Jehovah says, just to bury the bones. Scouting corps will be sent out on a full-time basis to search the land thoroughly and, when bones are found, markers will be set up for those with the spades and shovels who follow. (Ezek. 39:14, 15) Those privileged to share in that cleanup work will not view it as a revolting and disgusting assignment but will rejoice to be alive when Gog’s long and oppressive rule has come to an end and when the wicked are no more. Survivors of Armageddon will be happy and will greatly rejoice to have a share in preparing the earth for a global paradise of beauty and perfection under the reign of the King Christ Jesus. But first, before that happy day, this message against Gog must be delivered in its completeness.

Where shall I start? it's hard to choose.

When 3 elders told me in 1 week that the brothers and sisters were to blame for 1975.

when an old 'friend' said, even if she saw coruption in the Governing Body, she would not leave.

When 2 pioneer 'friends' said, whilst refering to the generation change." It makes perfect sense."

(The fact that they both said this to me, when they were both from different congregations made me wonder if all the pioneers had been told to say this.)

One of my family members got a little emotional when she talked about the new light about the anointed. She said how wonderful that Jehovah will take care of us at Armageddon by having the anointed around. I didn't bother with an answer.

When the elders told me that because I submissively followed my husband's decisions (even when I disagreed with them) that I was equally responsible for the the outcome. When they told me that my husband was immature so I would have to be the responsible one--but I still had to follow his headship. Still trying to figure out how that one works.

How about when I lost my "privilege" of commenting at meetings. When asked what I needed to do to get it back, the elders told me that I couldn't earn it back. In the same breath, they needed to see more from me before I got it back. WHAT? WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SEE FROM ME? "Nothing. Stop asking us. You're being unsubmissive by trying to find out."

Ooh, how about the fact that commenting isn't actually a privilege at all? Any Joe can come in off the street, raise his hand and comment. But field service, which is supposed to be such a privilege that only authorized members can partake in it, that I was still supposed to do regularly.

Do these count as cognitive dissonance or am I just listing catch-22s?

When we were told that by kissing before marriage, we were being "unclean". This was because one of the other pioneers (a weirdo single brother) didn't like that my then-fiance put his hand on my knee when he kissed me goodbye from service.

We went round and round with them, saying that since this happened in front of a car group from service, how could have POSSIBLY been "unclean"? We read them definitions from the publications, showing that what we did was not anything warranting the witch hunt they dragged us to. We even showed them from the Bible that they were wrong, and that's when they got really mad. We started laughing because BOTH of the elders refused to even LOOK at the scriptures we used. They said they had the authority to call it what it was.

They let us sweat for half an hour outside of the meeting, while we were thinking not only were we going to be removed as pioneers and as an MS, but that we would have to change all our wedding plans since they also threatened us with having to move the wedding out of the KH. This was with three weeks left to go before our wedding and with a ton of out of town guests.

In the end, we got a slap on the wrist and we kept our "privileges". We showed them, we then managed to fool around a lot more in private and apparently, God approved, because we never heard a word about it.

    What butt-wipes.

hi Blonde those are interesting scriptures in ezekiel do you think the bible is directly predicting events in them?

To be honest I always thought on Jesus's words when he talks of people just disappearing one will be taken and one will be not.

I also know because hell believing Christians think hell is literal from various scriptures particularily the lazarus and rich man scripture they think that people in heaven will be happily enjoying themselves but also able to hear the eternal screams of the people in Hell.
