well damm...i just edited this after a google........and it says cedar is the roller coaster capital of the world????????.........geeze learn something new everday...and ya......i love coasters.........
There were several large Witnoid conventions there during the 20s. Considered historical touchstones in the Kults' history.
I think that's the convention where they announced the magazines were horses, or something. wts fulfilling Bible prophecies, something of contrived significance.
It's a huge, ginormous amusement park now. Famous for its roller coasters. At various times in recent history it has had the world's [longest, or fastest, or steepest, or tallest, whatever] roller coaster, and they add a new one every year or 2.
There's a display way back in the park, kind of like a mini museum of the park's history. It was a beachside resort (the beach of Lake Erie) going back to the 19th century. There are a few photos of the Bible Students' convention, can't recall if it is the 1919 one, or the 1922 one, or maybe they have them both. As I recall, there are no captions or explanations of the photos, they're just there - but visiting JWs invariably gravitate to the photos and recognize them from JW publications.
Yeah, the 7 conventions in Cedar Point Ohio were the modern fulfillment of the 7 trumpet blasts in Revelation??? Most JWs I knew had a hard time swallowing that one...
Actually there were only 2 conventions at Cedar Point, and only the 2nd one counts as a "trumpet blast".
The Rev Climax book tells where the other 6 "trumpet blasts" were held - I don't remember off the top of my head. Detroit maybe was one? Pittsburgh or Cleveland or New York....don't recall.
But yeah, 7 trumpet blasts = 7 conventions, I don't think anybody buys that.
Sure. Ask any resident of Cedar Point.
They will tell you the city is best known for roller coasters and horns.

It was the second Cedar Point convention in 1922 that they seem to be most proud of.
This convention is portrayed today as the "first trumpet" and start of the "first woe"
This is the one were they often quote the phrase, "Advertise, advertise, advertise the King and his kingdom"
---but they fail to add that what was to be advertised was the fact that the king had returned in 1874 and would restore paradise to earth in 1925.
Yeah, all that trumpet blasting was nothing other than Rutherford saying stuff that's now been discarded and if you were to support it now, you'd be an apostate.
Been to Cedar Point many times. It's about an hour outside Cleveland where I live. I've seen the pictures in question. In fact the building they were held in is still there. It's the arcade now. It used to be the ballroom. It's a pretty cool place JW connection or no JW connection. Sir82 is correct. JW's do go see those pictures in the little museum. I've seen them every time I've ever been to the park.
