Because the Witnesses don't often talk about the part the anointed are supposed to have in mankind's salvation it sometimes comes as a shock to Witnesses when confronted with stark pronouncements on the issue from the literature. It's the same tactic Evangelicals have been using over the "mediator" issue for decades.
