When other churches "refine" their teachings/practices, it's proof they're not inspired by God (e.g., the Catholic Church and the Inquisition)

When JWs "refine" their teachings, it's proof that they're backed by God and that the light is getting brighter.

I think Ren. may be on to something. The JWs just sound like any other fundy nut when they go on about their various forms of demon possession. We know why they don't do LOTS of things is so that no one mistakes them for a bible thumper.

As a witness I used to have nightmares about demons attacking me. I would be paralyzed and couldn't do anything. As soon as I left that stopped. Kind of the opposite of those watchtower experiences. And no doubt it's because I didn't have the wts pushing the idea of demons at me anymore. If you don't think about it, you don't dream about it.

Lets face it the WT has told so many of these RIDICULOUS stories over the years that they are now showing themselves up as superstitious FOOLS.

They printed in their "Wicked Spirits" brochure that one woman lost several members of her family who were murdered by demons. No mention of source, no mention of whether that was what the Police decided.

DONT talk about it and it will go away - they hope.

The last bit I read in the litterature about an african woman who was tormented by demons whispering sexual filth in her ears just had me giggling. (she was unmarried)

They just dont want attention on this issue.

Their stories are so far fetched they sound like out takes from "Drag Me to Hell" which was fun, unlike the living death of the Witchtower.

During my time with the JW's there were 2 topics of conversation you could participate in without being critisized.

1. The ORG. , it's provitions, staying close to it, listening to the governing bady, staying close to Jehovah through the org, etc. yadayadayada.

2. Satan & the demons and all the warnings & stories .

Well they have replaced Jesus with the Org./FDS, rarely here about Christ. Now the governing body lords themselves above the annointed.They aren't leaving much to talk about.

When I was still living at hme, I got a sinus infection with miserable headaches. A girl from work had innocently stopped by the house to bring me a small Christmas gift. This went over like a lead balloon with my parents, who soon decided my headaches were caused by the "demonized" gift. Oddly, after my doctor appointment and my script for antibiotics cleared up the headaches, they didn't want to talk about the trinket they'd made me throw out. Such superstitious people!
