    Yesterday I was a big man ...

Today you're seeing less of me.

    Tomorrow?

    CoCo? You going somewhere?

Or just been on a diet?

    Greetings boyzone:

I was wondering if ever someone might ask! Thanks!

I was thinking of John Doe's recent thread on weight loss, the photo advertisement of the large man who'd gone svelte and, somehow, this old fave ditty popped into the noggin. It seems that whenever one asks a question on a thread [which, unfortunately, does not appear in the title] one does get an answer - eventually.

Oh, yes - I am on a diet. Additionally, I walk 5 or 6 miles a day. The unanticipated effects during this week of physical and psychological modification have been amazing ...

    More - perhaps - later.

I am truly grateful that you responded.

Dont forget to take water with you on your walks... very important for weight loss! Drinking it, that is!

    Greetings, truthlover:

I appreciate the reminder! I'm heading out in 3 hours and will take my flask.

    Gratefully,

Enjoy your walk! What a great habit to get into-physically and mentally, you can only be improved by it.

    Thanks, JWdaughter!

I'm going to buy myself a pedometer www.thewalkingsite.com so I won't have to count my steps anymore:

    Hi Guys and Gals,

This is probably a really dumb question, but are there others out there who measure time and distance when they travel - anywhere? I understand the occasional setting of the travel odometer to check your auto's mileage. However, I consciously and persistently check the travel time and distance to the market, to town, to a client's home, etc. Every time and every day.

We have lots of back roads here in the mountains and one of my destinations has three routes: 21.2 miles/30 minutes; 22.4 miles/35 minutes; 27.5 miles/45 minutes [the scenic/gas-guzzler route but most direct].

I realize now that Dad did it, but I don't recall ever saying as a kid, "When I grow up I wanna be a statistician - just like Dad!"

Can I get a job doing this and make some spare cash?

    Hi CoCo

I wear a pedometer at work sometimes to see how much walking I've done - that became a bit obsessive at times - the pedometer reading, not the work lol! - so I use it less now.

I'd love to get time to go walking more, but its not gonna happen any time soon.

    Dear Emo:

Thanks for that bit on the pedometer. When I'm working more I walk less. Several weeks of scant work has sent me to the streets: to exercise, to clear the head and to drum up work in the 'hood [I carry business cards avec moi].

I appreciate your response to this thread.

    CoCo
