Um...I am no longer a JW. But as a citizen, I think death was his only peace. He kept finding ways to outdo himself on a daily basis, and not in a good way.
As far as from a JW standpoint, he was no longer an active member. So that would make him worse than the rest of the world in their eyes.

he was most likely a pedophile, so most people were disgusted, but hoped he would find Jehovah again, and admit his wrongdoing to the public.

He became taboo in most JW circles after he disassociated himself.

a very flawed individual with a gret adeal of talent. He embarrassed the witnesses by his behaviour and that meant his dissasociation was welcome by most.
