At someone's suggestion, i tried calling a few phone numbers to get more detailed convention info. I kind of want to tape the rest, it feels so incomplete, and i wanted to hear the rest for my own research. Basically i wanted to know which one a certain congregation would be attending. (so i could avoid certain people. it would not be good) So after being re-routed several times to different people, the guy on the phone first asks me if i'm a sister. In a VERY suspicious tone. I simply said no, and explained that i wanted to find out which convention some friends of mine would be attending. (true) He just gave me the dates of the conventions, which i already knew. And then asked AGAIN if i was a sister! ROFL. I again admitted.......no. THen he said, that's all the information i can give you.

He made me feel like some creepy criminal, trying to do something wrong. Like infiltrate the nearest Masonic Lodge. Sheesh, where's the love-bombing? LOL.

I called London Bethel and the clown that answered the phone refused to give me his name or their fax number - fortunately posting a request for said fax number on JWD produced the answer within the hour.

That would land you in jail in five seconds flat. I don't think it's even appropriate to post terrorist nonsense even in joking - there's a lot of people that would want to do something that stupid, and this isn't the place.

Every dub has a persecution complex, and they are paranoid to begin with. It's not suprising.

Yeah, you're seeing just a taste of things...but just imagine all the JWs that do "loyally" go to the conventions they are assigned to and have to be in the same building with their ex-spouses, the children of those relations, and other relationships gone bad. I always wondered how, and more importantly, why, they did it instead of just going on a different date.

There are no INNOCENT questions when calling Bethel. If you arent a JW then you MUST be up to no good. Just a liiiiiitle bit paranoid much?
