My wife stumbled across some fundy Christian "Save the JWs" website tonight, I think it was Tower Watch Ministries, and asked me if I thought it was an "apostate site".

Me: "Uh, I don't know. Maybe. Well, if it says "ministries" in the title, it's probably just some Born Agains hoping to save us from the fires of Hell."

Then she goes on to Wikipedia.

Me: "Wikipedia is DEFINITELY not apostate. Wikipedia is looked down on in high-brow academic circles, but overall it's known for being fairly objective due to the fact that it allows and encourages disputes from all sides."

She spends the next half-hour on the Wikipedia page. And we have a great conversation re: the authoritarian nature of the WTS.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Let your JW relatives take as much time as they need. Push here. Ask there. And leave it alone to germinate. It's EXTREMELY frustrating when your eyes have already been opened.

    BUT,

if you love them, and hope that a meaningful relationship might lie at the end of tunnel, let them take it at their own pace.

As always...... your mileage may vary. To each his own.

Please join me in a toast to free thinking!!

Maybe you should save it as your browser startup page? ;)

I think Simon needs to allow us to delete our own post at a certain time frame before it's too late to be able to delete it. Some message forums can do that. Saves the Mods alot of time when we can delete our own accidental double posts.

Tick tick tick... now it's only a matter of time. A week, a year, five years... it will happen.

Unless she goes on anti-depressants, LOL.
