Thanks to some transciption work by our own Aunt Bee, the text of this year's District Convention talk "Answers to Questions About the Last Days" is now available as a PDF. It is linked at the bottom of the page at the Internet Archive where the audio is also available:

    http://www.archive.org/details/AnswersToQuestionsAboutTheLastDays

Just go to the link above and you can click on the PDF at the bottom of the page under "Other Files."

The page also has links to various Watchtower publications that predicted things for both 1925 and 1975.

Thanks for making that available. And thanks to Aunt Bee.

They are very smooth in their reasoning.

Thanks to Aunt Bee for doing this. Like other public talks from the past, I'm sure these will come back to haunt them in another 80 years when they're still claiming that we're in the last seconds of the last daze (ya, I spelled that right) of this wicked ol' System.

    Thanks Aunt Bee,

The following highlighted is a quote from the PDF of the Talk. Notice how they gloss over 1925 and the great lengths and money spent building a home for these returning men of old. Also notice the statement "some hoped that 1975...." Some hoped?????? It came down direct from the Governing Body at the time. Being preached years before, and everyone holding their breath for years afterward. Excuse after excuse has been made and until this day, they still continue to blame the rank and file instead of the FDS...God's mouth piece.

Then notice they ask the question, "Does this prove that such Witnesses were false worshippers? No...."

In IMO it proves they (such Witnesses) were following false prophets ( The Governing Body, aka the Faithful and Discreet Slave, aka God's mouth piece)

For example, back in the year 1925, many expected the fulfillment of certain marvelous Bible prophecies. They surmised that the time of the earthly resurrection would begin, bringing back these faithful men of old, like Abraham, and David and Daniel. Then, more recently, some hoped that 1975 might mark the beginning of Christ?s thousand year reign. They thought the events associated with the beginning of Christ?s millennial reign might start to take place in 1975. Their anticipation was based upon the understanding that the seventh millennium of human history would begin then. But it didn?t prove to be so. Does this prove that such Witnesses were false worshippers? No, rather it showed they were alert and expectant.

What a complete crock. I was there (and an adult) for 1975. The date came from the WTBS and they did nothing to discourage it, no I'll change that, they actively encouraged talk about the date. It served their purpose, they used it, and now they're trying to distance themselves from it.

I too was there in 1975 and I heard directly from Fred Franz that the end was due to come within months or years-not decades-of 1975. Fred Franz represented the Organisation not a bunch of low level JWs, the so called "many", giving their own opinion.
