end of mailed subscriptions in the U.S. This action is now being
combined with other downsizing measures such as printing paperback
books due to a continuing shortfall in funds received from our
primary donor.

Yes, on that quote; I've read it somewhere along the way. I believe that I have seen the original, but also I thought that it was in the
JW's in the Divine Purpose book or other such historical commentaries.
Anybody got the reference citations for this one???

Its the crafty downsizing of Branch building projects and yet instructions to develop and speed up worldwide Kingdom Hall building projects that has me shaking my head.
Think about it. Who pays for Kingdom Halls. Who gets the benefit of its worth as assets? When Branches are sued as they certainly will be soon, the Branches may be seized and held as visible assets but the Kingdom Halls as places of worship would not.

A continuous broadcast through the Watchtower is that : man plants and waters but "God makes it grow" therefore growth equals God's blessing.
As with the "generation teaching" turnabout, they will probably blame the rank and file for any shortfall in funds.
It is a bit like bin Laden blameing the Afghanistans for the lack of rain(they had not seen rain in 5years)saying they were not praying hard enough.
