Warning this might make you a little Pissed, but I think it's good to see the way they talk about us. Nothing we don't already know.Check out the Tear of Oberon comments. So feel free to discuss.

    Thanks for this link.

I loved this comment. He's referring to JWs that read something on an "apostate" site. . .

And then the fear sets in. They can end up getting afraid to ask older, more mature Witnesses about the things that they read from apostates. They may end up keeping it to themselves, until they get sucked so far in that there is no getting out again.

I didn't have to read apostate sites to see the lies and cruelty in the congregation. I had only to read the WTS own publications, old and new, to see the deception that the WTS practices. When I finally found the so-called "apostate" sites, they only confirmed what I had already found out.

    Another gem. . .

"If the Trinity is false, and hellfire is false, and God's name is important and must be sanctified, and worldwide unity is a must for God's people, and nationalistic killing is condemned by God, and God's kingdom is not something in your heart but a real government that will restore earthly paradise, and Jesus did not sacrifice his life as a god/man but rather as a perfect man, then are Jehovah's Witnesses God's organization? If not then who is?"

    Here's a good one, too. . .

I would like to point out that an Apostate is not just someone who drifts away, or loses their love for Jehovah. An Apostate completely turns around and opposes Jehovah and those who represent him. Generally they do this to justify their own selfish desires and ambitions. People who are condemned by the Bible but who do not want to change may try to justify themselves by criticizing those who are setting the good example that they do not want to follow. Personally I think that it is a form of mental illness.

This is a familiar one used not only by JWs, but persons from many religions. . .

I can't imagine how anyone who truly "KNOWS" Jehovah could ever turn apostate. If you truly know him then you know he is a God of love. You know who has his spirit and is doing his will and you know that there is no other choice but to continue faithful relying on him when you don't have all the answers yourself. Personally, I believe that those who turn apostate never really came to KNOW Jehovah. They only thought they knew him. They did not build on a solid foundation. They did not let the truth into their heart. They did not dedicate their lives to him but rather perhaps to an organization that may or may not have been his organization.

    LWT,

Yeah I enjoyed that post too-here's the full thing :]

They turn apostate because they dont follow the "information control guidlines" that all cults utilize. Fear controls people. When a witness researches the organization and see's all sides of its belief system from a non biased point of view. The Org. at that point, loses its power over the witness. For the person to go back to the org. after learning the truth about the truth, would be like asking a grown man to believe in Santa Claus again. You have to keep your followers ignorant. Thats why the organization is against internet chat rooms, and Debating religion on the internet. If you think that its ok for all you witnesses to get on here and chat like your doing, then I suggest you print off some transcript and ask the CO next time he comes around. What you are doing is very wrong! You can try to justify it all you want in your mind, but dont forget to ask the CO next time. YOU KNOW WHAT HE WILL SAY! I suggest you study this article again

There are a whole lot of JWs posting in that thread? How low can the WT keep a grip on the sheep?

    All the best,

    Stephen

It's a form of the "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy.

In true cult like fashion, all the reasons why someone might become an apostate are due to faults with the individual. Never does a cult member consider that the fault may be with the organization itself.
