Could someone please scan the illustration on Page 27 of the Sept. 15, 2009 Watchtower?
I would like to use this as a comparison of something else to make a point.
Thank you.

Hi, cameo-d.
Do you have the PDF of that WT?
If you look at that PDF by "Adobe Reader", you can copy that snapshot.
Since I do not have that English version, I cannot explain in detail ...
That is, tool -> zoom -> snapshot
If you cannot make JPEG of that, I will upload to my bulletin board.

Can't wait!!!
High Priest=Living Image=Christ Class ?????

"The people believed that they owed a blood-debt to the gods. They wanted to avert disaster by paying the endless debt. So blood was a common theme - the sacrifice that the gods required. So, animals would be sacrificed, as well as humans. Also, there was ritual blood-letting, where people would cut themselves to offer their blood to the gods."
This quote is from information on the Aztec culture, but even so, it seems this "blood debt" theme is inherent in most all religions and it transcends time and cultures.
The above illustration is an example of "blood letting".
I have seen almost the exact same image as above in an Aztec/Mayan ritual. As a matter of fact, that was the reason I asked for the scan--- to make the comparison. (For a long time, I did not realize the scan was posted. I will have to search for the Aztec pic that replicates this ritual of cutting the right index finger as a summons to the gods that a blood sacrifice is about to be offered.)
Thank you for posting the scan, Black Sheep.
And thank you to Possible-San for helpful efforts.
But the blood letting in that picture is animal blood, not the blood of humans.
Blondie: "But the blood letting in that picture is animal blood, not the blood of humans."
Look again, Blondie. The blood is coming from his finger. There is no animal there. It is only assumed.
"Ritualised bloodletting was usually performed in public by religious or political leaders piercing a soft body part, most commonly the tongue, ear or foreskin, and collecting the blood to smear directly on the idol or collecting it on paper, which was then burned."
"According to Bancroft, one tribe sacrificed illegitimate boys twice a year, again by removing the heart, but collecting the blood in a bowl and scattering it to the four cardinal compass points within the temple." (sacrifice in Maya culture)
Because the blood is collected elsewhere and then brought in, it's origin can only be assumed unless one is part of the inner circle who knows the ritual. Either way, this strikes me as primitive, demonic, deranged, and superstitious. It's showmanship promoted as religious ceremonial majik.
It appears that the oracle is being annointed by this blood, or that spirits are being summoned by the scent of fresh blood.

Another thing I find disturbing is that if WT took note of "touching no unclean thing" they would not be promoting this grossness of modern day blood sacrifice. If they claim to believe that Jesus was the ultimate and final blood sacrifice, why would they touch the uncleanless of promoting images or other religions that ascribe to this barbaric tradition and negate the sacrifice of Jesus?
What has been seen cannot be unseen. Now they have contaminated the minds and thoughts of all their readers who have looked upon this evil.
