The Generation That Will Not Pass Away...

Sometimes it's helpful to see an example of exactly who made up "the generation that would not pass away." It puts a human face on it.
For example, below is a portrait of a family taken in 1910. You can tell by looking at the picture that these folks belonged to a time that has long passed. These people pictured below are long gone, along with millions upon millions of others who supposedly 'would never die.'
Sure, there are still some folks living who were babies and toddlers in 1914--but practically everyone who was an adult in 1914 is now dead. Before too many years, everyone who was an adult in 1920 when Judge Rutherford proclaimed "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" will also be dead.
And before too many more years, we'll all be dead too. Just like these folks.

My friend said, " Well Flipper that is the MODERN DAY definition , in the earlier Bible times the definition had a broader meaning. It could be 120 years or an indetermined period. "
It's sad when JW elders have such a shallow understanding of their own religion.
In JW theology, what did the term mean in the typical fulfilment? In other words, how many years elapsed between 33 CE and 70 CE? Would 37 years fall into the Oxford dictionary definintion of 30 - 40 years? Hmmmm?

1914 was, is, and always will be 100% bullsh*t.
1914, was a lie, is a lie, and will have to be lied about some more.
It was the buoy for the peak of the cult, it will be the albatross around their neck as they fall.
Thats why when I read threads asking if JW's will survive, its impossible in their current form. At some point they will have to address their most famous date, the one they claimed with such arrogance, and the one they are going to choke on like an old Vienna Sausage.
I for one can't wait......

It is hideous how this ridiculous teaching has affected people. My Aunt lost her father 6 years ago. He would be 100 this year had he lived. She still can not get over the fact that he died. She is a born in JW and there was no doubt in her mind that her father would walk into the new world. She had absolute confidence that he would not die. We are all worried how she will handle it if my uncle goes first. I feel so bad for her.

Ya, but they got "new light" on that Watchtower cover that'll be available for placing in October. A great deal of thought, meditation and prayer obviously went into it:

OOMPA- It was a crazy conversation with my friend, I DID ask him , " Where do you get that understanding that there is no limit or certain time on a " generation " ? He just said, " Well, the Bible and the Faithful slave " . I swear the guy is having his brain sucked dry by the WT society vampires ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
