IS THERE OR HAS THERE BEEN ANYTHING THAT HAS AIDED YOU IN YOUR QUEST TO RID YOURSELF OF THE BITTERNESS AND RESENTMENT OF THE JW'S

I KNOW FOR SOME IT HAS APPEARED THAT THEY HAVE A NEWFOUND RELIGION OR RELIGIOUS BELIEF, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH MYSELF.

FOR SOME MAYBE VISITING THESE SITES ENCOURAGES THEM TO SHED THOSE MISERABLE MEMORIES? FOR ME IT JUST BUILDS MORE RESENTMENT

WHAT SHORT OF A BRAIN BLOCK FRONTAL LOBOTOMY HAS BEEN OF ASSISTANCE TO YOU PERSONALLY???

    WE WOULD LUV TO KNOW

    THX

Something that helps me is to meet with others in the same boat. I have formed some friendships with some from these forums and I have joined the local ex-JW group at meetup.com. You say that this forum has not gotten your bitterness down. I understand that, it was much the same for me. Over time, meeting with real people who went through similar problems has helped me.

Seriously, love. But that love only came from God. Without God, I wouldn't know His love and that I need to return that love to others. Forgiveness is a must. Real forgiveness. Not the kind where you just say it, but where in your heart you have forgiven whoever has hurt you. God loves them as much as He loves you and Jesus died for them too.

So I'd say love those who hurt you, not what they do. Forgive them freely, meaning that you expect nothing in return.

This may not be the answer you're looking for, but it's a really good one. And I say that with no haughtiness because it doesn't originate from me.

Total acceptance of my past as a JW, moving forward from there.

recognizing that it is ME whom I have control of, NOT anyone else. Coming on to JWN has given me a "SAFE" outlet in which to STATE what I believe, and see how others may judge what I say. Immersing my self on JWN is a way of not being isolated, and yet not being exposed physically to unwanted health hazards. This allows me to benefit from the various one's hearts better, since I can take my time to analyse each response which I am interested in. Seeing how others have moved on from bitterness and other negative thoughts/ emotions is also quite helpful to remake my psyche, thus allowing me to stay analytical, while lessening me being "critical". By focusing on articulating my positions more than anything like attacking others' positions is also quite helpful in my process of making my inner self more attractive to myself, and others.

by the way, a post all/mostly in lower-case, like this post of mine, is going to get a better response THAN ONE THAT IS ALL IN CAPS. ALL-CAPS is for Government indexes and other detached announcements; it is not for general Forum use, like this Topic (a.k.a. thread) is part of.

    Cured? Coped? Whatever!

I recommend a large measure of loathing contempt with a sprinkling of mocking derision helps to put all matters relating to jws in perspective.

    Cheeses.
