    Also, paragraph 15:

Do they really beleive that they "do not have special insight beyond what even some experienced members of the great crowd have"?

I know for a fact they don't believe this, because no one can disagree with the GB. No one.

Par 19 takes the biscuit. If no individuals (note: plural) are to elevate themselves or expect special treatment, then what the hell are the Governing Body doing?

Makes me sick to my stomach reading that. My parents are totally captive to this tripe and they'll sit at the KH lapping this up without a second thought.

I'm just re reading Captives of a Concept and this WT emphasises that concept again. "The GB are GOD and make sure the rest of you don't go getting uppity about it!"

I like the way it downplays our responsibility to the anointed ones. It says individuals should not be "elevated", but in the illustration of the sheep and the goats Jesus says that we are judged on how we treat his Brothers (anointed). Shouldn't we be clothing them and feeding them? What about the thousands who have started to "partake" this year? I believe this is the article seperating the GB from the "anointed" 10,000 or so now (no doubt will increase). We should only support them as a group not as individuals Right? Again the scriptures say whatever they want them to say. Sad.

"As in the 1st century though, the Governing Body does not consult with each individual member of the slave class before making decisions" para 19.

So if the GB are making decisions without consulting the rest of the slave class, how is the slave "giving them their food at the proper time"?

The GB are making the rest of the slave redundant.

In fact what's the real difference in every day terms between an anointed and non-anointed member? NONE! All the power and authority is still held by the 9 men in Brooklyn. So in fact, if every single JW decided they were going to partake of the emblems, this wouldn't make one bit of difference to the authority of the GB. They'll still maintain absolute, unaccountable power and control over everyone.

Yes, thats it! This article isn't just about keeping the new anointed in check, its about the GB making sure they are accountable to no-one for the decisions they make. They don't want to be given advice by uppity new anointed ones, they just want to continue to spout their rhetoric without their authority for doing so being questioned by anyone.

Thats an AWESOME power they have! 7 million people hanging on to every word of 9 old men in Brooklyn as if it comes from God himself, ready to obey without thought or question, whilst they remain answerable and accountable to no-one (or so they think)

That is really scary! Everything about this article screams CULT

Can we get some responses from a JW apologist or two? Why have the Governing Body created a doctrine that isn't found in the Bible? And refering to the Mosaic Law Covenant won't work as Christians aren't Jewish.

Have a look at the picture of the GB as a clear example how they manipulate people and information.

Fist of all, there were not to many copies available for reading, as it was a hard work to make a copy of the scriptures. Second, not many were able to read or write. better approaching would be just one reading for the others.

The only thing missing that they will include in the future pictures is a calendar in which the Wednesdays of the months will be in red colour.

    Regards.

You must have been asleep in the pews, Brother Jeff. This is from WT 15 March 1991.

A person might also ask himself: ‘Do I desire prominence? Am I ambitious for a position of authority now or as one of the kings and priests associated with Christ?’ In the first century C.E., when a general invitation was going out to seek entrance into the heavenly Kingdom, not all anointed Christians held positions of responsibility as members of the governing body or as elders or ministerial servants. Many were women, and they had no special authority; nor does spirit anointing bring extraordinary understanding of God’s Word, for Paul found it necessary to instruct and counsel certain anointed ones. (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Hebrews 5:11-14) Those with the heavenly calling do not view themselves as prominent individuals, and they do not draw attention to their being anointed ones. Rather, they manifest the humility rightly expected of those having “the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16) They also realize that God’s righteous requirements must be met by all Christians, whether their hope is heavenly or earthly.

Professing to have a heavenly calling does not bring a person special revelations. God has a channel of communication through which he provides spiritual food for his earthly organization. (Matthew 24:45-47) So nobody should think that being an anointed Christian gives him wisdom superior to that of the “great crowd” with the earthly hope. (Revelation 7:9) Spirit anointing is not indicated by proficiency in witnessing, answering Scriptural questions, or giving Bible talks, for Christians with the earthly hope also do very well in these respects. Like anointed ones, they too are living exemplary Christian lives. For that matter, Samson and others of pre-Christian times had God’s spirit and were filled with zeal and understanding. Yet, none of that ‘great cloud of witnesses’ had the heavenly hope.—Hebrews 11:32-38; 12:1; Exodus 35:30, 31; Judges 14:6, 19; 15:14; 1 Samuel 16:13; Ezekiel 2:2.

Paragraph 15 looks a bit like a cut & paste from a QFR May 1, 2007, so there doesn't seem to be anything new here.

How should a person be viewed who has determined in his heart that he is now anointed and begins to partake of the emblems at the Memorial? He should not be judged. The matter is between him and Jehovah. (Romans 14:12) However, genuine anointed Christians do not demand special attention. They do not believe that their being of the anointed gives them special “insights,” beyond what even some experienced members of the great crowd may have. They do not believe that they necessarily have more holy spirit than their companions of the other sheep have; nor do they expect special treatment or claim that their partaking of the emblems places them above the appointed elders in the congregation. They humbly remember that some anointed men in the first century did not qualify to serve as elders or ministerial servants. (1 Timothy 3:1-10, 12, 13; Titus 1:5-9; James 3:1) Some anointed Christians were even spiritually weak. (1 Thessalonians 5:14) And sisters, although anointed, did not teach in the congregation.—1 Timothy 2:11, 12.

Hence, anointed Christians along with their other sheep companions strive to stay spiritually strong, cultivating the fruitage of the spirit and working for the peace of the congregation. All Christians, whether anointed or of the other sheep, work hard at preaching the good news and making disciples under the direction of the Governing Body. Anointed Christians are content to do this for as long as it is God’s will that they remain on earth as Jehovah’s servants.

    Acts 16:4
As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.

    Acts 15:4
When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

1 Corinthians 12:28-30 (New International Version)

28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues [a] ? Do all interpret?
