Tonight I'm grilling chicken drumsticks, turned slowly while squeezing fresh lemon juice over them. Homemade french fries and steamed summer squash.

Yiz! I thought you were going to give eggplant a try. Now's the peak season for them. Try to get the long, skinny, Asian eggplants. They taste best.

I had 3 slices of bologna, 1/2 of a leftover chicken pie, and 6 gumdrops.

Really? Guess I'll give it a whirl then. Not sure how I'll handle'em correctly since it'll be my first time. Why is it called a "eggplant" anyway? The shape? Does it have like a "yoke" in the center, as it were?

    Thanks again,

    Yiz

Hmmm, looks good, hope it tastes good as it looks. Hope not too expensive, given the budget we have.

It's called an eggplant for the same reason a pineapple is called a pineapple. Nobody knows.

There were some easy preparation directions given on your eggplant thread. Eggplants are in season right now and very inexpensive. I can make a dinner on fried eggplant and applesauce alone. Delish!
