A logical response to "Can I ask a question?" is "You just PROVED that you CAN."
Another one is »I think you mean "May I ask a question?"«
Or, in keeping with this Topic, a third logical response is "I'm sorry, but I only allow strangers ONE question. So I MUST be moving along."
