  I have had the story on my MySpace Blog for quite some time.

  here is a comment from a youtuber I thought I would share, I like to read the comments, and allot of these comments are coming from kids required to read this in HS.

  Its like religion. When you're superstitious to believe you have to sacrifice someone to get good crops and you just keep doing for the traditions sake, the sheep will keep it going. That's what this story is all about. This? is why there is the talk about the other towns who stopped doing the lottery. But some people keep doing things just because like the old man said, "We've always done it this way".

  Not to go off topic, but when I saw the thread title: "The Lottery" .... I just can't help to think about the short story by that name by Flannery O'Conner.

  Crap, it gives me the creeps everytime I think of that story. If you haven't read it, you probably shouldn't.
