  I was going to suggest Pogo but the Texas Hold Em Poker is on the members only site.

  I don't know how different the other poker versions are - but they're available to non-members.

  I will check it out.

  I played in a couple of tournaments to fill in, my son plays with a group on Thurs nights, they rotate houses and I played when it was here twice, never played before.

  And I came in second both times. No one expected that!!!!!! Probably beginners luck, but it was great fun and nice to win part of the pot, I just want to get some practice on betting and the cards to see if I want to commit to playing all the tournaments.

  I play on the play chip side (not the money side) at fulltilt poker. You can download their program free at fulltiltpoker.net and play against real people. I think this is better for learning than playing against a computer like the site in your link. People are much more unpredictable. Fulltilt has one of the best interfaces around for ease of understanding and action, IMHO. They stake you with a thousand chips to begin, and you can reload whenever you need to. There are very low stakes play chip games available. Most of the big poker sites operate in much the same way though.

  Yes, the computer practice got very predictable fast, the people I played with .........well, intoxicated and unpredictable!!!

  Texas Hold Em is a great game. My favorite. I play better with a few drinks in me. I play worse when I think too much, but thats just me. Others need to think more.... ;)

  LOL! By a few drinks, I mean 2-3. It is my experience that herbs work against those that play me while partaking.... We will have to try this one of these days...

  I play on "Fulltilt" and "Pokerstars." If you play on either one they have "freerolls" and you can play for real money. If you are going to play, may as well play those for money instead of chips.
