We mutually ended my "studies" today

I feel pity for the born in lady I did my study with- out of respect for her parents as a child she obeyed their wishes to not become involved with the outside world (anything outside of Joho's org), as an adult she married an elder and out of fear of Joho she avoids anything that is not WTBTS issued! including me, now that I left my studies- but you are right to feel disapointed upon learning that they are not interesting in the salvation of others- as far as they are concerned now, you have heard the message and rejected it! Armagedon On...

So now that you've left your study- were too now?

I don't believe that God is a god of confusion, I believe that there must be one church or group somewhere that has it 100% right, otherwise what's the point??!?!?

NO One Group Has it 100% Right- you can only now seek out what is 99% right for you, enjoy the journey, it is just as important as the final destination.

Lesson to anyone "doing a Bible study" with Jehovahs Witnesses....if they wont study JUST the Bible with you, and use ANY Bible YOU choose...its not a Bible study. Instead what they are doing is using their OWN indoctrination materials and recruiting you. They have no interest whatsoever in your salvation. You are merely a way to report hours, and then possibly get them a part on the Circuit Assembly bragging about their "progress towards baptism" with you.

    Congrats that you GOT OUT!!

Can anyone tell me why the fudge I've just had two JW guys at my door!?!? Asking me why I gave up studying and what it was that was wrong? Apparently they thought I was gonna get baptised- I've never even been to a single meeting.

    ????

Has anyone experienced this? They started having a go at me on my own doorstep that I had wasted their time. You'd think I'd requested their visits.

    GRRRRR

    Janey,

Thats amazing. You said you both agreed to terminate the study - how about your time then?.
When that is said and done, i think this can be an experience you can use later. Psychologically, its my understanding its mostly the same principles that drive the average jw, scientologists and member of radical biker gang, and getting some insight into this can be of value later... besides, they do have an interesting perspective on some bible verses, and they do point out some places that are not so obvious at first glance, i that might be interesting for someone like you who know the bible really well :-)

It's probably just a last ditch effort to recruit you, along with getting more "time" in with you.

JW's are all about getting "time." They didn't waste their time on you, they got their monthly reported time in by visiting you.
Those who conducted your study were getting their required "time" in. Getting you baptized would be a huge feather in their caps, but they would have kept visiting just to count the time every month. Some JW's are "pioneers" meaning they must get 70 hours of recruiting in every month.

Visiting you now, after cancelling the study is all about getting time. Don't get me wrong. The ones calling you might really believe they are saving your everlasting life. But it really is about "time."

Ah, the good ole illogical JW thinking. They waste their time to come back to tell you that you wasted their time.

They came by before 8am? That's really weird, even for witnesses.

That is aggresive. Only thing I can think of is maybe they thought you'd been coached up by "apostates" into asking those questions. Really... no one could come up with questions like that on their own... impossible.... by their logic anyway.

We mutually ended studies today, I think my two witnesses realised that they were losing more ground than they gained :-S.

I'm not surprised they ended the study and then 2 guys showed up - you prolly were a topic of converstion at the local group
