"Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Change Their Teachings"----Can You Refute That?

On Shopaholic's thread concerning the District Convention notes, it was stated that "Jehovah's Witnesses don't change their teachings" like Christendom's religions have.

    Can you disprove that?

    Absolutely..You read it wrong..LOL!!

Also, it was mentioned several times that other religions highlight that JWs change their teachings while they haven't changed for a thousand years.
The Br then asked, where we would rather be...in an organization that has remained the same for a thousand years
or one that changes as the light becomes brighter and brighter. Example was the new song book, updated to remove
obsolete terms and correct phrases based on a clearer understanding of our role in Jehovah's purpose.

    2 words... Blood Fractions.

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's, any kind of blood taken into the circulatory system from outside the body was forbidden. I was truly amazed to learn they now allow "blood fractions".

Why is it now allowed when it wasn't when I was a kid?

I love how these changes end up being "new light".....

    How about the organ transplants?

I know one such "cannibal" who had a heart transplant. Because of it, she got to see over 10 more years of life and see her little children grow into fine young adults. This was right after the "new light" came out, but many still skewered her for it.

(I always wondered what those self-rightous people would have done if faced with the same decision.)

New Light = we were wrong

New Light = we are losing too many people over this issue

I guess I did read it wrong. Dumbass that I am.

But I'll let the thread continue highlighting how the "Truth" seems to change a lot.

Updating their old books to not use obsolete terms is hardly an indication of things getting "brighter and brighter." It just indicates an embarrasing remnant of something they'd rather forget... like saying the end would come in the generation of 1914. Something getting brighter would mean its getting better, and JWism is defintely not getting better. They just keep polishing that turd.

Last week someone shared the 'old light' on blood from the Reasoning book. A book that is still current but does not match current doctrine.

I don't how many people did this elsewhere, but it was the rage for awhile to bind the Reasoning book at the back of your NWT Bible. I have one.

Interesting how the 2,000+ year old portion of the binding is still current (the Bible part) but the less than 30 year old portion (the Reasoning book) is out-of-date and incorrect.

New light also means getting rid of song lyrics written in the 1870's which have different meanings in the new millenium!

Such as ---- "like bees that were molested, but I shall ever beat them off" --------

    Good point!
