We had a footballer on his way to brilliant things in Britain back in the sixties/seventies who quit to Pioneer as a dub. his name was Peter Knowles. I found this song about him on Youtube , by Billy Bragg, which I found interesting . The graphics are a bit before his time though.
Wow thanks for postingbluesbrother I think the grimm graphics were either made by a fan or billy if he refuses to waste hundreds (of thousands on fancy companies). I guess they kind of speak about the grimmness he will face as opposed to the glamorous life of a footballer, the pics looked post war - old bomb sites perhaps coventry? Here`s the other side of the coin.
All-Australian defender Alex Rance capped a stellar season by claiming Richmond`s best and fairest last night at Crown Palladium .
" If I thought football was going to impact on my family ,my beliefs ,or my relationship with my wife ,then I would very seriously think about leaving the game." Rance said after signing his new deal.
Alex Rance is a Jehovah`s Witness
" But I`m very happy with the decision I made and I feel it`s the right decision "
It wouldn`t have to do with the extra thousands of dollars he extracted from his club would it ?
Alex Rance had previously stated before re-signing , he was considering giving up his football career to go full time pioneering as a minister of Jehovah`s Witnesses .
So the bottom line is he thought the monetary value was far more worth than the spiritual value by sticking to his faith.
Jehovah`s Witnesses frown on putting people on pedestals High profile footballers are put on pedestals. And Alex Rance is no exception .This is especially so in Victoria Australia , and by extension the rest of Australia.
And neither are the Williams sisters nor Prince , however if an ordinary rank and file member with no celebrity status , of the Jehovah`s Witnesses were to do the same thing they would be before a Judicial Committee and if they did not change they would be excommunicated /disfellowshipped such is the double standards of this religion.

This Just In: Worilds' first day serving at Bethel (Fishkill) was some time this week! I heard from a trusted source that is in his circuit in North Carolina. I guess his mother is a JW, so he's continuing in the religion of his birth.
