Oh, BB. My heart is breaking for you, your brother in law and all family and friends. I lost my brother in a car accident many years ago. It's such a huge shock to realize this tragedy can happen to a sibling. How old was your sister and does she have children? Did your mother actually mention birthday parties to you? People don't think at all when faced with something so tragic, and they say the most thoughtless things. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
Just to be clear, my mom didn't say it was because of the birthday party, that was my thought when I had to call her with the news. She was very good about everything and the only thing she said was that now she has the hope of the resurrection. It's something we all would have said as a JW.
