I figured I'd start a thread on this because I've noticed especially with women they really beat you into submission. So, I thought it would be good to talk about how to handle different situations without arguing.

If you have any ideas on how to handle the following situations, or have any other scenerios to add, please share!

    Ex. 1

The elders want to have a sheparding call

    Ex. 2

Elders/Parents say you can't make a decision because your husband is the head

    Ex. 3

Maybe your problems are because you don't study/ pray enough

    Ex. 4

Maybe your not getting appointed because your not taking on your responsibility properly

    Ex. 5

I could never be married to your wife because she's not submissive enough

The elders want to have a sheparding call

There's a farm with sheep just down the road from my house, but please don't tell me what the elders plan to do when they call on them.

Elders/Parents say you can't make a decision because your husband is the head

But the wife is the neck and the neck is what turns the head (from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding").

Maybe your problems are because you don't study/ pray enough

First of all, thanks so much for your nonjudgmental and unasked-for advice. But you may be right. I'll pray more and ask Jehovah to help me study "Crisis of Conscience" more.

Maybe your not getting appointed because your not taking on your responsibility properly

Maybe you're getting too personal. Maybe you're stumbling me. Yes, you're stumbling me. Welcome to the lake of fire.

I could never be married to your wife because she's not submissive enough

I don't mind because she's smokin' hot in bed.

The elders want to have a sheparding call

"No, thanks. I'm in a good place, spiritually. If I feel the need to talk, I'll call you."

Most dubs think that inactive ones are miserable and depressed. Show them them opposite. Show them that you like where you're at. I used a similar line one time. It threw the elder off...he didn't know what to say. He was expecting me to be all sheepish and embarrassed. Instead I declined his offer and made it clear I didn't need help.

Maybe your problems are because you don't study/ pray enough

non sequitur. There are many JWs who pray and study and have complete faith and yet suffer from terrible tragedies. If all you needed to do was pray and study, then no JW would ever have problems.

I could never be married to your wife because she's not submissive enough

I could never be as successful as I am without a strong and sensible wife there to keep me grounded and focused on what's important. She is a true complement and at times stronger and more able than I to handle a situation. I'm glad she's independant and doesn't need to be molly coddled or treated like a child. I could never be married to a woman who couldn't speak for herself or stand up for herself.

    Ex. 1: No thanks.

Ex. 2-5: Thank you for your input. (Now eat sh&t and die, mofo.)

Ex. 4: They are actually doing you a favor to keep you from appointment, so don't worry.

Ex. 5: Yeah, like my wife would be married to a Bozo like you.

The elders want to have a sheparding call No need for that. You're here. I'm here. We talk here and now or not at all.

    Ex. 2

Elders/Parents say you can't make a decision because your husband is the head "Caesar's law™" says that men and women are equal. I will not permit anyone to trample on my legal rights.

    Ex. 3

Maybe your problems are because you don't study/ pray enough Have you ever read the book of Job? Jehovah didn't think very highly of the people who adopted your attitude.

    Ex. 4

Maybe your not getting appointed because your not taking on your responsibility properly Wrong. I'm not getting appointed because I won't kiss ass. I'm fulfilling all of the other scriptural prerequisites.

    Ex. 5

I could never be married to your wife because she's not submissive enough. Wrong. You couldn't be married to my wife because: 1. You're not man enough to handle a real woman. 2. I'd kick your worthless ass if you tried.

Do you recall what Dick Cheney said to Senator Leahy, a few years ago, on the Senate floor?

    That should do it.

If husbands get to make all the decisions; what do they do when a non-jw husband says that his jw wife can't go to any meetings, or to any conventions, or out in field service, or has to sign a fraudulent tax form? If a husband jw or non-jw makes a decision for you that violates your conscience, you can disregard it.
