Greetings, long-time workers:
If you worked outside the home at an early age,
1) What did you do?
2) What did you get paid?
3) Did your family need the money or was it all your own?
4) How old were you when you started working?
Thanks,
CoCo

11. I babysat for 3 different families who had 2-3 kids and needed someone to watch their kids on Friday or Saturday nights when they went out to dinner or a movie. I would do it, happily because I got out of our house and I got to watch TV and play games with other kids! It was a dream come true!! I was expected to wash all the dishes but I was used to doing that at home, so it was easy and quick. I could have that done in minutes, no matter how many they left.
I did that until my real job at age 15 in a shop.
VIII, are you a female???
Sylvia
I shoveled manure when I was 3 for room and board, then found a better job chopping wood when i was 4. Finally saved money to move into a closet in the back of my mom's brothel... i remember using sardines as lamplight to read Crime and Punishment when i was 7. Eventually went to Yale, got a degree in astrophysics. You just have to pull yourself up by the bootstraps.
