They are up there in that crapola, but certainly not a monopoly on that. Probably most unique in the fact that they lead the league in false prophecies.

Yes, I think that is essentially right - it was a Millerite idea long before CTRussell co-opted it (nicer was to say plagarized it). He originally believed in the Millerite revision which extended 1844 to 1874...then made his own extension to 1914. In both cases, they were visible and physical teachings before they were later revealed to be "invisible". It is also alarming to realize that in much of the CTR chronology he believed more in "pyramid numerology" and seems to have later forced various secular dates (607) to make the 1914 date fit where he wanted it.

J Woods is correct. I should have added the fact that the invisible return of Jesus teaching may not be unique to the Witnesses however, the way in which the date of 1914 was arrived at is basically not known to most Witnesses. When we visited Russell's grave site in Pa. a few years ago, we traced some of the information on the pyramid to paper to show that it was not placed there by apostates as the Witnesses like to say but, indeed is engraved with the words International Bible Students Association. Other information engraved on the pyramid is easy to see how Russell arrived at the date 1914 as the date for the invisible return of Jesus.

How do you know this? Have you done independant research into how much persecution other religious groups experience? What evidence do you base these assertions on?
