Do you play the lottery?

If you do, would you let me choose the numbers for you, if we win, we can split the money. Deal? Personally, I have never bought any lottery tickets because I think it is a waste of money to buy them, since the odds are against you, but I would not mind getting the big money.

You reminded me of a time I was on a winning streak. Going across the border to by tickets, and won every time. Started with $2,600 then $100 or $50 each time. My boss sent me to buy him a $100 worth of tickets @ $1 each, and I bought myself one ticket. None of my bosses tickets where winners but my one ticket brought $50.

All that winning caused me to get addicted to gambling, and I went to LasVegas. I was up another $600 for a couple of days. I don't know but it seem like the casino caught on to me. But any way I ended up loosing everything.

I don't gamble any more, but I do buy just one ticket when the lottery is really high.

Right now I beleive it is $150 million. Do you have the winning numbers?

Tired of the Hypocrisy

I usually play the lottery and lose. Unless I buy from my lucky charm. She is a nice gal at the grocery who when she sells me a ticket will say good luck to me and I always win at least one dollar! I have been getting tix from her for like a year now and it never fails. Only thing is I never know when she will be in. I once won $12 and another time I won over $50! Mostly the wins are within the 1-5 dollar range though....

I used to call lotteries taxes on fools.... and I still do. Now, post-JW, I buy four $1 tickets a week. $1 twice a week for Powerball and $1 twice a week for MegaMillions (both of the US multi-state games, I live on the border of both states with both games). I have only won once since playing... $7...woot woot.

My fiancee won $10,000 a couple of months ago...oh wait...she had to split that with 19 coworkers...make that about $300 after taxes...

JWs say they believe gambling is wrong, yet they gamble their entire lifetimes on a game that has had millions of suckers over 125 years and not ONE payout.

They should try the lottery, then. The odds are infinitely higher in the lottery than in the "paradise earth" scam. And if they lose in the lottery, they are out a dollar. When they lose in the WT lottery, they've lost any living they could have had from life.

There is going to be gambling in the new system of things. I know this because the JW's told me there is going to be a pair of dice.

I asked an elder "if it were wrong to buy a raffle ticket?" He said that was up to the individual to decide.

I dicided that it would be alright as long as I don't spend beyond my means or abuse it.

I see a lottery ticket no different then a raffle ticket.

I see gambling no different then alcohalism. JW's beleive it is alright to drink alcohal, but not to abuse it,

I buy a lottery ticket every so often...maybe half a dozen times a year.

Funny this topic just came up... I'm going to a Casino (first time ever) with my boyfriend and 2 other couples later today. Wish me luck!
