Is Atheism a Form of Blind Faith?

If i understand jeff right, he means that you can't pass on your experience of god to someone else.

Well, that obviously goes without saying. Although if I saw a preacher/faith-healer restore someone's missing leg then that experience would communicate itself to me. Of course the other side would argue "how do you know it was God and not the devil who did the healing (classic JW argument). But I think there is room for certain experiences of other people having an impact on people's beliefs. If I saw someone raise the dead (no, I haven't seen that lately) that would communicate something to me, not what it feels like to be raised from the dead, but the implications flowing from that and how that might alter my beliefs, especially if I didn't believe in that stuff before. I think we're spinning in circles here.

That's because in my view everyone else has/is god as well.

Say what? You can't be serious. Is God?

Of course, but neither of us has experienced seeing those things happen. So, until we do, that is purely theoretical. Even if we did see someone do that, again, experiencing that power through them would be second rate from experiencing god directly, no?

That is what I thought I just said. As far as witnessing healing, you might not have witnessed that, but I'm sure there are those out there who might disagree with you. (Although you'll just say "prove that" as well, which I don't think can be done in the objective scientific sense. This goes back to Philosophy 101, ie. prove to me that I exist, at which point I poke them in the eye with a sharp stick and dare them to ask me that silly question again.) Growing the leg back and raising the dead was a point of emphasis. Insert your disease and/or affliction.

Jon, you need to go further back than Philosophy 101 to understand what Satanus said. Do some reading about the religions of India, China, and Japan, and maybe you'll understand how "god" can exist in and through everything.

I've never met an atheist who believes that. I continue to meet christians who do though.

What's so intellectually hard about not knowing, and not needing to know, the existence of a Creator?

Please refer to the OP. I'm not suggesting it's intellectually hard. I'm surprised you've decided to use a strawman.

Okay, I'll rephrase it: Why do you need to create belief?

Maybe, try looking at it another way. Christianity claims that god made everything out of nothing. Coming w a background belief like that, it may appear as a starnge concept that the 'god' made everything out of himself.
