Danial I think there is a problem with your theory.
It totally leaves out people who were beaten and in turn now beat their own children. But you can be sure they won't be posting that anywhere
If you read my theory again, I did not include those who spank their children, only those who don't spank their children.
If you want to include more groups, it could look like the following:
A) Spanked as children --> spank their children
B) Spanked as children --> beat their children
C) Spanked as children --> don't spank/beat their children
D) Beaten as children --> spank their children
E) Beaten as children --> beat their children
F) Beaten as children --> don't spank/beat their children
I would hypothesize that Groups A and F are by far the most common among the population of ones who were administered corporal punishment as children, with Group E as moderately common, but not as common as A and F.
