I just learned today that our entire IT dept being outsourced to India effective January 1st, 2010. Some of the folks have been here for 20+ years and cannot believe that they are losing their jobs over a few dollars.

How can you have it both ways? Liberals want to open the borders to Mexico to pick lettuce, etc. but they don't seem to be able to get the connection with US manufacturers who want to legally open factories in Mexico (Thanks to Bill Clinton and NAFTA) and get their goods made just as well for much less money.
Come on folks, this isn't rocket science. What do you want? Protectionism or a free Global market? Something has got to give and most people don't feel a lot of sympathy with big unions and their sacred pay scales which they refuse to allow finding their own level in a world economy. The big rumor going around as of tday is that our allies are about to establish their own currency standard and it won't continue to be the dollar. Get used to the idea that YOU may soon be living in a third world country without having to have your mail forwarded.
Thanks, Obama. Keep printing those greenbacks! We're going to need a lot of them to buy a bag of groceries.

I guess I'm fortunate in that my IT job is solid, stable, and impossible to be sent to India unless they plan on flying Habib back and forth daily to care for the day to day issues that always arise that can't be done remotely.
