Is the Watchtower "Question and answer" study a form of brainwashing?

I believe it is. Now, my brain is washed clean because I won't even pick up a piece of their literature.

Many a Sunday I would sit there and look around in a half-asleep stupor at everybody and the thought did occur to me that this repetition did mean something. What I want to know is: was this done deliberately? And if so, when did they learn to do this?

    ?

One of the absolute dumbest practices ever was to "study ahead" and underline a phrase here or there in the magazine.

I have even seen people do this right during the meeting!

Due to the fact that the only allowable answers are the ones in the paragraph- in one's own words is allowable but one's own thoughts are not- it is definitely an insidious form or brainwashing.

And if so, when did they learn to do this?

Along time ago back in Brooklyn Headquarters they gave instructions to people who wanted to sell WT literature , they were called then coulpertures,

on what had been printed in the WT and AW magazines so they could go door to door.

They were instructed on what to and how to sell to the public.

It was the responsibility of the writers of the WTS to create stories that would grab peoples attention, such as Christ returning to earth

and the imminent Armageddon that was soon approaching, they were successful on those efforts.

Millions have unfortunately swallowed this orchestrated bullshit even to this day.

This religious publishing company grew in membership and expanded itself accumulating more power and wealth,

    and the rest is history.

not only do think about that stuff, you would be listening to others ruminations too. after reading yourself, you have it read to you. If you are devolved enough, you will have these anti-thoughts go on in 'family worship' night.

it is not only brain washing, it is FILLING it to capacity with wt stuff, using the method that the brain works with.

withhold it! -- to have spare capacity.

    I think it is.

First, the GB controls the questions that are asked, and that controls the thinking that is allowed.

Second, no one takes the time to look up all the Bible references that are cited. They just assume that those verses support what the WT is saying. If you do take the trouble to look them up, often you find that the passage -- in context -- has nothing whatever to do with the point the WT is asserting. Sometimes it even refutes it!

Third, the questions never ask WHETHER the statements in the paragraph are true. They always ASSUME the teaching is true. JWs (or studies in a "home Bible study") are asked to parrot back the WT's dogma or they are asked to explain WHY it is true and give examples.

Answers that support the WT's position are given positive reinforcement. The study conductor is pleased and voices approval.

Answers that don't support the WT's position are almost never voiced. A JW who did so in a WT study at the hall would be marked, reproved, or DFd, depending on the circumstances. A study who did so at home would be "lovingly corrected" as soon as possible.

    Unity at all costs.

Creating your own biasly structured information, then presenting questions upon that information is

brainwashing an mind controlling. Its a way of reconfirming that information without contravening debate.

Its also being intellectual dishonest when you know and have preconceived the information your

presenting is playing toward your pertaining advantage.

    .

Thats why you see many times a question being placed on the front cover of the WTS. to attract

people's attention to those pieces of literature, when one opens and reads the article inside they get

the self supporting information that the editorial writers come up with which is always in support

    of the Watchtower Corporation.

    .

These self made questions and answers devised by the WTS. can be seen in the Watchtower magazine

in used further in brainwashing people with the WTS's own version of doctrinal dogma.

Self imposed questions upon written information is discouraged in these meeting arrangements,

the WTS provides the questions on information and your expected to answer accordingly as the WTS has

designed. Continuing to publicly put forth questions on the WTS. will either get you Da if your not baptized

or Dfed is you are baptized.

The WTS plays a mean game of power and control and I personaly think that came about on the fact that

the WTS. was structured around a publishing house which entailed all adjoining members to be in total firm agreement

    with whatever the WTS. published.
