I collect meteorites. I've got around 130 different ones right now including pieces of the moon, Mars, asteroids, and commets. I've also got a decent fossil collection inclduing a few hundred that my wife and I have found ourselves.

I collect rare minerals, mainly those of crystaline form. I have a few very interesting specimens that are beautiful too. I have a very nice dioptase from the classic location in the Tsumeb, and some stilbite with apophilyte from Poona, India that's pretty gemmy and with nice pink, golf-ball sized apophilyte.

I guess it's pretty boring if you're not into minerals.

Rhett and Fran...VERY COOL, when I was a kid I did that, but some hobbies fade.

And Xena-I don't collect those. In fact, I don't collect the others either. Just one, I have. She's a nice'un.

My favorite meteorites that I've got are either my piece of the moon that I have for sale right now for $2,200 which is well under market value or my slice of the Burnwell, KY meteorite which is the largest of its type in the world owned by a private individual. Where did I get it you ask? I did a trade with The Smithsonian in DC. How many people can say that? If I had to put a dollar value on it I'd probally say around $5,000. I don't care if you are interested in it, that thing is NOT for sale.

Rhett: that is too cool. Have any problems with radioactivity or anything like that?

I didn't set out to collect anything, but I seem to collect books, maps and glassware.

From now on, I want to collect cash.
